Does the first time federation take forever? I’ve already imported my subs. Thanks!

When you subscribe to a community, you only start receiving data from that point on. It doesn't go and download the history, that'd be very resource intensive on the remote instance. Thus it fetches a handful of posts, and no comments as a preview of the community, and after a couple days of activity is looks mostly normal.

So I just watch the posts and wait for comments to show up?

Yes. Data starts flowing in after you hit the subscribe button.

Second this, there's no history to load. Even Mastodon only loads I believe 100 posts or something when a brand new instance subscribes.

So I just have to wait? Still no comments except replies

You should have all new posts and comments coming in, comments here mean it's probably working. Sort by new and things should start coming in. If you don't see any new posts or it stays stuck on subscribe pending, it means there is something probably wrong

I have some posts and no comments but replies. Would you be willing to share your sanitized config or hjson? Idk where I’ve gone wrong

In case it helps, I only had Undetermined as my only language on my profile. Making sure that English was selected made everything show up. But it might have just been an accidental config on my end.

By default all languages should be enabled

They weren't for me on my fresh install, so something must have happened. Either user or system error. Either way, it's an easy thing to troubleshoot.

See what? I’m not commenting from that instance because I can’t see comments yet sadly
