The way Americans blow so much smoke up asses about that day is unintentionally hilarious

So much moral, legal, political energy expended to pontificate about a glorified carnival riot, "principled" stands in defense of unprincipled liberal concern trolling

They waste this energy so they don't have to think about Charlottesville 2017, the reactionary counter-riots of 2020 and the mass student beatings of spring last year, all of whom have far more resonance than this 4-year-old soap opera

Accepting a federal pardon also may count as legally admitting guilt for a state crime, I think. So there are other reasons one might turn it down.
