As a first step, they can put in a secondary deck, to help drivers try it out and find out how fun the jumps are. After a while no one will use the old flat deck and they can remove it.

What if you did a hill on top... So it was a parabolic curve.

The Skye Bridge is a bit like that:

I feel like you purposely tricked us with this picture. The perspective makes this bridge look crazy steep. It's actually much more flat than it seems.

[-] sanguinepar@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

I take your point, but "tricked" is a strong word - I chose an image that shows the amount of climb. Having driven over it, I promise , it feels crazy steep! :-)

Yours really only shows the centre of the bridge, barely going beyond the supports. When you get a wider view, you can see just how much users have to climb at the start, to get to the top..

Fair enough. It does look very steep, but I couldn't find a good picture of the whole thing.

[-] sanguinepar@lemmy.world 0 points 1 month ago

Yeah, same, it's weird that there isn't one easily findable!

[-] jol@discuss.tchncs.de 1 points 1 month ago

But anyway, thank you for introducing me to this lovely bridge today!
