This is cool and informative, but I'll be using this more like as a tool to avoid chains than anything else lol. Well, except Cora.
If you're on the hunt for a Pizza chain in Vancouver, Captains Oven is a small chain (4 units?) that I enjoy.

Tim Hortons is on this list but is majority owned by Americans (Burger King, specifically IIRC).
Really shouldn't go to Tim's anyways. They're terrible. Go local
It's owned by Restaurant Brands International which is headquartered in Toronto, but listed in both Toronto and New York stock exchange. The majority owned is 3G capital, a Brazilian firm.
That info is outdated actually, 3G sold their shares in 2019 apparently, now the biggest shareholders group are american

I would highly recommend locally-owned coffee shops anyway. They're just better.
Today I learned Panago Pizza is British Columbian!
Oh I miss old school panago...
I'd like to add that Odd Burger, the vegan fast-food chain, is also Canadian!
They're awesome! I like going to the one in Victoria!
Man I miss swiss chalet and Harvey's. They've pulled out of BC
On the plus side you have White Spot, which we don't have anywhere else(afaik)!
not a resturant chain but wanted to mention Thai Thien Sub and Industrial Sandwich for locally owned food places
What's going on Canada?
