Hey everyone! I'm aussie and I'm here to explain this to people who need help understanding this. Tony abbott is a far right wing conspiracy theorist who ignored the UN and for one term was prime minister of Australia. He is disliked and hated by many in his party and others. He also defunded the ABC (Australian Broadcoasting Corporation, national broadcaster).
Don't forget he literally eats raw onions skin on.
Yep
Wasn't it closer to 2/3 of a term?
Yeah.
I know I don't have any responsibility for the actions of Tony religious nutjob Abbot but I still offer my apologies to the world. When this fuckwit left parliament I though the damage he could do was over, I was wrong.
I will forever treasure the clip of him in a grocery store trying to stage a "meeting the people" photo op only for a badass old guy to refuse his outstretched hand and only say a single word to the then prime minister of his country:
"dickhead" 😄✊️
Lachlan is asserting his authority and trying to break with his father’s legacy by appointing Tony “onions” Abbot to the board to try and drag it to the left and closer to the center.
Sorry but appointing the former leader of the Aus right wing political party will move the board to the left?
What leads you to think this, who is he to replace, Benito Mussolini?
At best he will just be more of the same.
Edit: Never mind, the sarcasm flew right over my head.
Ahh well, you tell a joke on the inter webs some times you hit sometimes you miss.
The onion eater is somewhere to the right of Gengis Khan, but then again so is the rest of the organisation.
yeah...that was Poe's law personally in play for me. Fault is mine, not yours.
No worries!
This is the best summary I could come up with:
Media mogul Rupert Murdoch stepped down Thursday from his role at Fox and News Corp, handing over the reins to his son Lachlan.
The following day, one of his first moves was backing the nomination of two additions to the Fox board: former Australian prime minister Tony Abbott; and Peggy Johnson, CEO of AR tech company Magic Leap.
Abbott and Johnson "bring skills, experience and perspectives that will contribute to the board and benefit Fox," Lachlan Murdoch said in a press release.
Abbott, who was prime minister between 2013 and 2015 as leader of Australia's center-right Liberal Party, is not an entirely new face in the Murdoch world.
In the 2013 election campaign, Rupert Murdoch tweeted that "conviction politicians hard to find anywhere," but that Abbott was a "rare exception."
Abbott and Johnson are slated to replace outgoing board members Anne Dias and Jacques Nasser.
The original article contains 338 words, the summary contains 145 words. Saved 57%. I'm a bot and I'm open source!

Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom!
