Had no clue about this film until a couple of my partner's friends recommended it the other week. Saw it in the theatre the next day with basically zero knowledge other than the fact that it's semi-political science fiction (what Sci-Fi isn't political in some way?), and while it's by no means a perfect movie, it's relevant, engaging, and hilarious. I hadn't yet enjoyed any of Robert Pattinson's work, but I adored him in this role; Mark Ruffalo made my skin crawl, another impressive achievement.

I’ve said it before, and now that I’ve watched it, I’ll say it again: this is a future cult classic. I’d even go as far as putting it up there with 12 Monkeys.

Similar to another commenter, I’m not usually a Patterson fan, but he nailed this role perfectly. Ruffalo too. His cringe factor was out of this world (pun intended).

This was the first movie with Pattinson that I've seen. I recognized his face from one of those vampire drama/romance series, but I didn't know what his name was. Turns out he was also in a Harry Potter movie (I've only seen the first two). I thought he did a good job.

I've only seen Ruffalo in Shutter Island and maybe some other movie that I don't remember. I thought Pattinson was better, but Ruffalo was good too.

I could see Mickey 17 getting cult status.

Many movies that are now considered legendary initially didn't fare that well. Some examples include Blade Runner and Brazil (also a scifi, black comedy with some rather brutal themes).

I will admit that some parts of the Mickey 17 were a bit disjointed.
