Looks delicious!

We like to put the tomato over a smear of basil pesto.

I still remember tasting that in a restaurant many years ago.

Extremely simple to do and with good tomatoes this is absolutely delicious.

I also like pico de gallo on some crumbling and hot bread.

broo·skeh·tuh
The correct pronunciation, and a sure-fire way to hear the Olive Garden waiter forcefully emphasizing the incorrect pronunciation while reading my order back to me like I am the idiot who has never spent a month backpacking Italy.

But yeah, good stuff.

Bruschetta is singular, bruschette plural... I mean, calling Olive Garden Italian cuisine is debatable, or so I've heard :D

We know, but the guy at Olive Garden will says bru-Shet-uh.

[-] beerclue@lemmy.world 1 points 3 months ago

i imagine a stereotypical new york italian-american accent when I read that. :)

That looks excellent. I don't think I've ever had bruschetta with truffle oil, but if I happen to have some at any point I'll have to try it out

[-] beerclue@lemmy.world 0 points 3 months ago

Well, it's just olive oil with truffle flavor, but it's not very heavy. Works out really well.

[-] Skua@kbin.earth 0 points 3 months ago

Oh I know, it's just not an ingredient that I keep in the kitchen habitually, and it's too distinctive a flavour to substitute. My stepmother is quite a fan of truffle so I might see if she has some and make bruschetta next time I see her

I got some last time I was in Italy, not something we usually have in the kitchen either.

Dip then in oven-melted brie and it will be perfect

*Edit: the person who downvoted clearly never had it.

People downvoting you are Italians. Be thankful that you're still alive.
