Older thinkpads would come to mind, usually a good option. Generally affordable, repairable, and can be good for Linux.

While I do want competition in the web space, its a good thing that Google could get told to stop doing stuff like this.

I dont want Mozilla to die of course but companies need to be held responsible for all the shit they pull. I'd imagine if Mozilla wasnt able to maintain firefox anymore it would fall to the open source community like they said in the article and I'd probably still use it.

No one company should own the internet.

No company or entity should have the ability to sell my information. And at the very least not have access to it without my consent.

Especially if it influences how much I pay for insurance. Next thing you know, if you live near a McDonalds, your health insurance is gonna go up.

GTA Online's latest event is called Bottom Dollar Bounties and focuses on letting players live that Dog the Bounty Hunter life in Los Santos, but it also adds the new Vinewood Club app to in-game phones.

This app "lets you easily request vehicles, claim all outstanding business safe earnings, and replenish ammo on your in-game phone." Collecting cash from your businesses in GTA Online has always been a bit of a pain, and being able to do it from your phone instead is obviously a massive improvement. The catch, of course, is that it's only available to GTA+ subscribers paying $8 a month (thanks, GamesRadar+).

I bought a dehumidifier off amazon that was "rated" for 800 sq ft.

Not only did it not live up to that promise, but it also served as the worlds shittiest ice maker. Ice formed on the radiator inside and stoped it from dehumidifying the air.

Thats right, you too can have a ice maker that makes ice in the shape of a radiator while ineffectively dehumidifying your home!

Best part was they reached out after I left a one star review and what they could do to change my rating.

I said "Nothing. Make a better product"

88 x 8TB drives? 704 TB of storage?

You got a whole damn data center lol. Good stuff dude. Was this off of ebay or direct from a company? I'm curious to know the total cost.

I dont really understand why you would buy a band tee if you don't know or like the band. Seems kinda weird to me but if that's what you wanna do, fine. Maybe the album art is cool? Idk man you do you.

I kinda get why people get upset when someone wears one and they dont know any songs but at the same time, doesn't really seem worth it to "call them out".

Just dont be surprised if someone asks what your favorite song from them is if you're wearing the bands merch.

May i recommend just buying a small form factor pc and hooking it up to your tv instead?

Smart tvs and things like this suck anyways. Super slow and bloated with crap i dont need or want.

Me everytime i use a broswer without ublock. Ill open a link here in lemmy without opening it externally to firefox and dear god my eyes.

Ublock makes the internet a better place. Or at least it shoves the bad stuff under the bed lol.

My advice? Sounds like you could use some therapy. Genuinely therapy is really helpful for sorting out these issues.

You sound like you may be dealing with more than just burn out. Of course im not a medical professional and i dont know you well enough to really make any fair assessment but just talking things out with someone would likely be beneficial.

If you can't afford therapy, talking things out with a friend may help as well but as they wont be trained to deal with this, it may or may not be helpful. It can help but its not a replacement for professional help unfortunately. I speak from experience but ymmv.

I worked in CS so i know it sucks. I hope things get better for you.
