Even better: system-wide DNS adblocking on Android. Get rid of in-app ads too.

I'm in camp #2. Only my Gmail address can access my apps from outside my home. It's a little bit of a pain to configure the rules, but once it's done it's done. I've been happy with it.

You do need to have a domain name though.

I read Snow Crash last year and it was one of the worst slogs I've ever endured. I get that people like Stephenson, but definitely not for me.

Once upon a time. But my understanding of this:

https://blog.cloudflare.com/updated-tos/

Is that so long as you don't use their CDN for your content, which is where the bypass cache rule comes in, you're okay.

Bless rainy weekends and work travel weeks.

Dick Tracy - I haven't watched this since it was in theaters. Such a bonkers movie. But just like during the original release, I just wish Beatty wasn't the lead. He's too old and just dull as he'll.

Fubar - not the Schwarzenegger one, but the Canadian one about an aging metal dude getting his nut removed. It was alright. I'll watch the second one.

Empire Strikes Back (Project 4K80) - Yeah, none of the digital additions are missed at all in this one.

The Clone Wars (2008) - I had skipped this because I never got into the original animated Clone Wars shorts. It was good and nice to see Ahsoka's introduction.

Explanation that I saw was that there are three holes - eyes and nose - in the skull. You know, besides the gaping mouth.

Don't get me wrong, I think we're mostly in agreement. Though I'm not sure how big a portion of pirating is done by the self-respecting sort.

Hey look kids, there's Big Ben, and there's Parliament.

I've been trying out the DuckDuckGo browser for the last week or so and it's doing the job. Of your list, it doesn't have a tab bar, but it checks the other boxes well enough, I think. I do really miss the reader mode button in Firefox. And generally the ability to use extensions.

My reasoning and setup are different, but I'm also looking at DAS solutions this week for a media server.

Thanks! It just threw an error at me when I launched it, but I'll see what I can do. Based of the warnings in the admin panel, there isn't anything critical for me to address, I just hate that orange.

I've been using Ionos for things for like 10 years now. I've had a medium VPS running for a couple years and just spun up an XS last night. No issues!
