Sooooo… does she not know the definition of the word “abortion”? Because if she’s fuzzy on that she may want to read up on the thing she helped make illegal (except for under very specific circumstances).

The way I pulled it off is basically by pure chance. A few classmates had gotten the impression (still don’t know how or why) that I was a good student. Whenever they had any difficulty at all they’d ask me. As such I was constantly explaining a bunch of stuff, especially the more difficult parts of the material. So from the moment I first understood it I just kept on repeating it to others endlessly.

In retrospect that’s probably what helped me get through the whole thing.

I looked it up. Seems this was the year he was formally diagnosed with HIV. And it was 4 years before it claimed him.

A lengend gone too soon, but it’s somewhat comforting to know he had fluffy companions.

Currently in a waiting room because my knees stopped kneeing. And I’m younger than 35.

Yeah, this is definitely just someone who got told (possibly even by a band member of Rage Against the Machine themselves) what the songs and the band are actually about. Doubt a single song will ever be made.

I think the concept is frequently called “Death of the Author”. It’s the idea that you can see a text or piece of art as entirely removed from the artist themselves. In the case of Rowling I would argue this is a bad idea as she is actively seeing support for any of her work, regardless if fictional or otherwise, as active support for her view on trans people.

We just adopted a second cat to keep our first (supposedly cat hating) cat company. My new favorite sound is the pitter patter of their little paws as they play together every single morning and evening.

I’m loving mailbox.org as an alternative to Gmail and Magic Earth as a replacement for Google Maps. Also I’ve been using Ecosia - both the browser and the search engine. Sadly the search engine is just a reskinned bing, but they are involved in the project of making the first real EU based search engine. And once that’s out I’m looking forward to using that.

Problem is that lack of places to vote isn’t a bug. It’s a feature. It means people who don’t have access to transport or who have do work during the day have a more difficult time voting. Not everyone has the time to drive somewhere and then stand in line for hours. Republicans have used this as one of their techniques to discourage certain groups of people from voting at all.

I’m still on both. Here for all of the political stuff and and anti-Reddit post and on Reddit I’m still in the subreddits that aren’t on here yet. Mainly a lot of crafting related stuff. And whenever someone complains about censorship on Reddit I respond with Lemmy as a suggestion. If I get banned I get banned. We’ll see.

Considering deleting my account as a statement but I’m kind of attached to the history which is why it’s kind of scary touching it at all at this point. All I’m using it for now is for a few crafting subreddits and some clothing based subreddits that don’t have equivalents on Lemmy yet. One I might be able to create myself. But we’re talking 5-10 of my most frequent hangouts. That seems like a bit much.

Went to find the removed post. The comments are not locked, lol. So everyone is discussing Reddit censorship and how they are upvoting it after it was removed.

Anyway, someone in the comments said this: “Musk doing a Hitler salute with a target on his head. Text "Make Nazis dead again" Very nice sticker”
