Damn, I did not expect such a step-up from the 7800X3D, that's kinda insane actually.

Swedish translators have largely stopped translating titles as the population nowadays are essentially all competent enough English speakers. But back in the day, there were some... let's say questionable choices. Sadly many of them are based on word play and translate poorly back to English. Superman III was translated into an absolutely atrocious Kryptonite pun, for example. I wish I could do it justice.

It Could Happen To You being translated as Cop gives waitress a $2 million tip is one of my other favourites - just a mundane summary of the plot with zero zest or punch.

It was also decided for some reason to name the entire Mel Brooks catalogue as Springtime for X after The Producers was first translated as Springtime for Hitler (which at least makes sense - that is part of the movie!). I think the worst offender is Springtime for the History of the World part 1 (History of the World part 1) - but they're all bad.

There was also a trend for a while to randomly add sub-titles to movies - such as Crocodile Dundee: a big game hunter in New York.

Finally, it amused me greatly that The Sound of Music was translated as Sound of Music - still in English, just dropping the article.

Him not drinking is unironically probably the only reason he's still alive despite his lifestyle and diet.

There are going to be major shenanigans in November. I fear Trump loyalists have had too much time to prepare this time and gotten too emboldened. I love riding the high of the current wave of rare optimism, but it just feels like there is no chance Harris just wins, gets certified and sworn in and that's that, right? Either Trump wins legit, or they manage to steal the election.

I really hope I'm wrong.

I'm not saying his current campaign managers are good, but a big problem is and always has been Trump actually listening to them.

Any chance the Dems will learn from Obama and Harris that younger and energetic candidates that stand firm will energize voters and increase turnout?

Seeing as they're rolling out Bill and fucking Hillary Clinton as speakers at the DNC to follow the already unavoidable speech by historically unpopular Biden my guess would be no.

I wonder if he goes for it. I bet he can capitalise pretty well on his sudden fame if he's willing to lean into it. Surely being a prominent porn actor pays better than being a mediocre pole vaulter? Provided he can keep it up in this discipline, at least.

I haven't played 2 or 3, but calling DA:O bad is a bit of a hot take. What did you not like about it?

While the overall plot is fairly standard issue fantasy save-the-world fare, I think the execution and the RPG aspects were excellent. How the game really made your choice of origin matter was incredible to me, and I enjoyed several of the characters too.

It does look like shit though, I'll give you that. I wish it was less depressingly brown-grey washed out looking.

It's not like Max was flying before the damage either. He was pulling away a little, sure, but nothing like usual. It's clear the McLaren was just really fast here, just look at the relative laptimes of both Piastri and Norris before Max's supposed damage.

I'm more inclined to think Max's pace was lacking due to setup problems. It has happened before for Redbull, in particular on sprints. We'll see in Imola just how well the new McLaren upgrades work. I suspect we'll be back to our regularly scheduled programming, but I hope I'm wrong.

Immersion features are also important for roleplaying, it's just a different kind of roleplaying really.

Threadiverse is basically used to refer to the Reddit-like part of the Fediverse, and the reason it's needed is essentially Kbin. Even though they use the same protocol (and are more similar than say, Lemmy and Mastodon), Kbin is a completely different piece of software written in a different language (PHP). So just calling it Lemmy misses out on those 60k+ users. And saying Fediverse includes Mastodon and PeerTube etc etc as well.
