Good points. I haven't rewatched Voyager since the finale aired so I may have been conflating the two Janeways. I'm just going to ignore the obvious time travel issues this raises because they make zero sense.
*In a current life too.
In my younger days, I rented a bedroom that was a converted dining room next to the kitchen but even that was miles better than this.
I want to high five that giant cat paw.
It's from IKEA. I wanted to get a second one for a different room but they no longer sell them in the U.S. as far as I can tell.
This is AWESOME advice. I have no problem hitting up tourist spots but they can be a bit much (and sometimes hugely overrated). I try to balance those out with just living in the city eating and drinking away from all the popular spots too.
If the place you're visiting has good public transit, I've also found that I strangely enjoy riding trains and buses to random places. It's a good way to immerse yourself and get off the beaten path.
From what I've seen most of the K dramas on Netflix have 8 to 16 episodes and tell a complete story which makes them the perfect length if you don't want to commit to a show spanning hundreds of episodes. Some of my favorites in addition to Beyond Evil and Extracurricular which were both top notch:
My Name
Itaewon Class
Kingdom
The Glory
Stranger
Sweet Home
Law School
Hotel del Luna
Bloodhounds (currently watching)
These are all over the map thematically so hope you find one or more you enjoy!
I don't even know Oleander and I can sense him judging me like only a cat can.
Not a full-on reviewer but Junkball. That guy's enthusiasm for starship design appeals to a part of me I didn't know existed, and I wound up watching half of his videos one weekend not long ago.
I'm definitely sticking around. It was slow going on Lemmy after Reddit's third party app shutdown on 6/30 but there's been a noticeable uptick in posts and comments in the communities I follow which is great. I don't need 5,000 responses per post and Lemmy's discussion volume works just fine for me.
There are still a few interests I follow that aren't present on Lemmy that I'm aware of (pro wrestling and NFL being the big ones), but hopefully those arrive soon.
I know the feeling! SNW's theme and opening credits definitely bring back memories of eagerly looking forward to TNG every week. It's easily my favorite Trek theme since TNG.
Definitely more prolific thus far considering all the communities I've found on Lemmy so far are for hobbies and interests, and not just the slew of assorted cat pic subreddits I was subscribed to on Reddit. I'm sure the latter will come in time though.
Resting cat face doesn't necessarily look angry, though. My guys both have the "there's not a thought in this head" variation of resting cat face--one largely fits that assessment but the other would be an evil genius if we're assigning human traits.
