Transplant patient here! Started with my 2 and then got 2 more added in my mid 30s. Later they took 1 of the transplanted ones out because it was clotting.

Score so far:

  • 2 original kidneys that have basically been so damaged that they provide no filtering.
  • 1 working transplant that is doing all the work and being a champ!

I'm 40 now (married and have a son). My younger family members in their late 20s are having such a hard time with dating that they're opting in for arranged marriage (which is common for Southeast Asians).

Instead of egg, I usually have surimi (or imitation crab sticks). They're not expensive at Asian markets (about $4-6 here in California for a couple dozen sticks) and can be stored in the freezer for a long time.

I actually just had some for breakfast. Nongshim + surimi cut into smaller pieces.

What quality are you getting from downloading from Spotify?

Personally, I use Deezer + Deemix to download FLAC for offline play and it's great!

Funny that there was another comic about how oranges cats are the true evil ones, not black cats hahah.

My wife used to complain about my green bubbles until I reminded her that I didn't choose that color for her. Apple did.

When I first met my now wife, we just planned on dinner. My thought was if dinner went well, I'd ask her to go down the street to the local pool hall to continue the night. We ended up eating dinner for 4 hours and were the last to leave the restaurant.

I'm glad we never ended up at the pool hall because it turns out she hated that place lol.

I left FB and Instagram about 3 years ago. At first I felt sad because I was "disconnected" from my large network of hundreds of people I know or have met. The truth was the majority of these "friends" weren't actually participating in my life at all. Those networks for most part were just allowing for some sort of passive consumption of our lives and when I had finally left, it was great. The hour or so I would spend trying to "keep up" with everyone was given back to me and it was refreshing to catch up with friends because we actually get to catch up.

Recently though, I spun up an instance of a private social network just for my family using a web app called HumHub. There's about 20 members and we use it just for our small family. No outsiders, no ads, no spam, just us. It takes me back to a time where social media was simple.
