This is actually a really damning article. Despite the carefully constructed facade, Scott simply isn't curious about anything that might broaden his world.

The all‐enveloping tactile environment is now widely available and fully convincing. Its resolution equals or exceeds that of human touch and can simulate (and stimulate) all of the facets of the tactile sense, including the sensing of pressure, temperature, textures, and moistness.

I'm picturing the VR dildo-suit from Upload.

Also notable because I don’t think it’s very often that eugenics grievances breach the surface in such an obvious way in a public siskind post

This one comes to mind.. Like EY's recent endeavor it's written as a roleplay so as to be nigh-unreadable by anyone without extreme tolerance for not getting to the fucking point.

The Irish discourse in race nu-uh ism. Like yeah, white people did some shit to the Irish. But then the Irish got upgraded to White status. The exact boundary of what we consider 'white' has changed and imposing it retroactively on historical figures and trying to imagine a unified 'white culture' of the pre-colonial world is silly.

Like if you want to be proud of your euro heritage, great, get some flags and learn to cook your favorite old country dish. But if you conceptualize it as this grand unified 'white heritage', we can see the klan hood.

Fooling EAs is a lot easier and less risky than fooling the IRS.

It almost reads as a threat... 'don't stop our gravy train, or we'll lash out and reveal what we know!'

[Request]: Use "Breeding humans like livestock" instead of "Eugenics" in most circumstances.

I spent way too much time arguing that NYT didn't dox Slatescott.

Ok, I got a chunk of the way through it, they're running it less like a nonprofit and more like the fucking mansion family, what a horror show.

Alice and Chloe report that they were advised not to spend time with ‘low value people’, including their families, romantic partners, and anyone local to where they were staying, with the exception of guests/visitors that Nonlinear invited. Alice and Chloe report this made them very socially dependent on Kat/Emerson/Drew and otherwise very isolated.

Like if this was a journalist piece the first paragraph would contain 'cult' and it would relate this example, not make me wade through an entire section about his sit down interview with a Member Of The Family.

Look more carefully at what the cult leader is asking for. He was asking for money for his project before, now he's tearing his hair out in despair because we haven't spent enough money on his project, we'd better tell the aliens to give us another few months so we can spend more money on the cult project.

He has been very careful not to say that we should do anything bad to the aliens, just people who don't agree with him about how we should talk to the aliens.

there’s no actual way to argue against these people

On the contrary, they're like an all you can eat buffet of internet arguments.
