Irrelevant. Windows 11 is well over 50% of respondents on the steam survey, has been since late last year iirc. Windows 11 is the best Windows OS, and arguably PC OS, there has ever been. People are not getting fed up with it or moving away to Linux. Factually they just aren’t.

It's not though. The idea of self hosting isn't to not have any software costs associated with it. Domain names aren't free. VPNs (that you use to aquire content) aren't free. Cloud backups aren't free. Would you prefer everything was free? Absolutely. Do you sometimes have to pay to get the best software for the job? Absolutely, and Plex is that software.

The business model of having the people that use their main product that requires the most development and time and resources, Plex Server, pay either a cheap one off fee (that regularly goes on sale for half price) or a monthly subscription fee in order to use it, is "exceptionally poor"? How so? Is it just that it was free? This business model has been around for eternity. Get people in the door and hooked by offering it for free, then start charging for it. It's one of the actual best business models around, not "exceptionally poor" lol. You're looking at it from the "I want it to be free forever" point of view, not the "We need it to be a viable business with revenue to be able to sustain it" point of view.

That will never happen, because people will always be making free software to put out there for people to try and to use - and many of them will then transition to PAID because it's not sustainable otherwise. For software to thrive you often have to have full time developers working on it, and full time developers need to be paid.

I paid ~$100 ~10 years ago for Plex Pass. It paid for itself instantly as I was simply supporting the developers of the software. As a software developer I have no problem doing that. I wasn't forced to buy it, but I did.

a) Unsubstantiated rumours, with zero evidence supplied, zero sources, from a "JoUrNaLiSt" who tried to verify the story and then refused to acknowledge and publish the fact that the rumour was denied.
b) the board, who the rumour is about, flat out denying the rumour.
I choose to believe the one that isn't just reporting rumours based on zero evidence that have been categorically denied. You choose the other option, which is up to you, but it makes your decision making skills look very dubious. You seem very much in the "guilty until proven innocent" category, because that's essentially what you're saying here - you're asking someone to prove a negative, and even when they say they aren't doing it you then don't believe them?
Many would argue that Tesla's stock price would go UP if this rumour was true, so saying that their stock price depends on them denying it is questionable.

Which points are "bullshit"? That they're slowly moving everything out of the control panel to the settings app? This is literally what they've been telling us they're doing, and what we've seen them do.

That being able to ask Copilot to change a setting would be helpful? How is that bullshit?
Good thing it's not MANDATORY then. You can keep using your mouse and keyboard. Also you don't have to use your VOICE for copilot - it's much easier to use the mouse and keyboard. That's how most people use it.
This stuff takes time unfortunately. If they change everything at once they get even more anger and pushback. This way it's just a slow and easy move away from the control panel - 1 thing here, 2 things there, and before you know it hey look! Everything is in the settings app now!
