Awareness is good but berating your average Joe is not the way to make any kind of systemic change. It will make them not listen to you or even actively work against you.

If I had to pick one it would be Terraria. But there are many good options.

It's a lot of fun. Got me to get a stylus to use for card games on my Steam Deck.

Boss blinds that hard counter you late in the game feel pretty dang bad, but that's my only big complaint thus far.

It's a fair point. I completely forgot fast travel was a thing when I played Spider-man because I enjoyed swinging around. I think teleportation is often used as a crutch to get around the fact that travel does tend to be boring (hello Bethesda).

Monster Hunter Rise. Just got into Sunbreak a few days ago. This is the first one I've really been branching out on weapons since I started in 3U. Gunlance and hammer are proving to be super fun, on top of my original love: SNS.

I do feel Halls of Torment does a good job of separating itself from Vampire Survivors. There is actual aiming and an attack button if you want and there's Diablo style gear you can equip before and during runs.

What it is not good at is visual clarity. I very frequently take damage or even die because I couldn't see something over all the stuff my character was throwing out. VS also has this problem but it's lessened by the fact that by that point everything's probably dead in 2 seconds anyways.

I am very ready for more ARPG from these guys, whether that's a new game or more Grim Dawn.

This may just be my device but I have to kill the PWA if I stop using it for around 10+ minutes, else I just get a black screen. Not the biggest problem but a bit annoying because I lose whatever thread I may have been reading.

Removes mask They were a glyphid all along!

I very highly disagree but to each their own, of course.

Can't go wrong with Stardew Valley for something chill and Terraria is among the best games ever made.

A big one I haven't seen mentioned here yet is Plate Up. The best way I know to describe it is roguelike Overcooked with more agency and a slower curve into the stressful moments. We much prefer it as a result. It's been getting free content at a pretty solid pace, too.

I recommend giving Plate Up! a look. As good as it is, we also found Overcooked incredibly overwhelming/frustrating. Plate up is much better in that area, we feel. It eases you into the more hectic situations and you actually have agency over the design of the restaurant.

This is why I can't bring myself to buy into Gamepass. It may be a good deal now, but we see this happen with every steaming service. Lowball the price to bring people in, then keep bumping it up until it's not such a great deal anymore but people depend on it for their content. I'd much rather 'own' my games. At least as much as is possible nowadays.
