Portugal just being the westernmost part of Eastern Europe again.

Well this is all very sudden and mysterious. Presumably there’s something specific behind it but not clear what that might be.

This role feels typical of so many infrastructure projects lately. Set a deadline, miss it, set another one, miss that too, get it in place in some limited form, oops that was a mistake.

It’s disgusting, misogynist language, directed at a woman. But she is a cunt.

The Petitions Committee (the group of MPs who oversee the petitions system) has considered the Government’s response to this petition. They felt the response did not respond directly to the request of the petition. They have therefore asked the Government to provide a revised response.

When the Committee receives a revised response from the Government, we will publish this and share it with you.

The real question is how to make it profitable. Turn the captured carbon into building materials somehow?

As it stands, who pays for it? Can’t rely on government subsidies, and can’t rely on business doing it unless they’re compelled.

I wish it would work but I just don’t see how it fits in the current system at any meaningful scale.

Reckon it’s worth taking a drive out of London to spot the aurora?

Spacious room with a single toilet and a floor to ceiling solid wood door: 🚨ILLEGAL🚨. But add a sink and anyone can poop to their heart’s content.

It seems the issue here is actually mixed gender handwashing, which is the real scourge.

10 years without an increase in funding for SEND pupils is outrageous. Austerity is very much alive and well.

To be fair, with the number of parts falling off those planes it was a statistical certainty that something was going to wash up at his house!

It was a national tech store, so had a few hundred locations around the country. I just had the one.

One of the big challenges was having little to no say in brand or supplier decisions etc. Specifically, we also struggled with paying inflated wholesale prices with the franchisee or then benefiting from volume rebates which weren’t shared. Really crushed our margins!

I suppose in a smaller chain you might be a little closer to the franchisor, and you might have some influence, but ultimately you’ll always be the little guy.

Been there, done that. Would not recommend. Space Pirate has nailed the experience. I paid a lot of money for essentially a job, and ended up selling at a loss just to get my time and mental health back.

That was back around 2010 so I’m sure it’s an even more difficult situation for franchisees today.

Ask me anything, I guess?

Missed it as a kid, but our local cinema put it on the big screen a few months back. Can absolutely see why it’s a cult classic!

Under the new definition, which comes into force on Thursday, extremism is "the promotion or advancement of an ideology based on violence, hatred or intolerance, that aims to: negate or destroy the fundamental rights and freedoms of others; or undermine, overturn or replace the UK's system of liberal parliamentary democracy and democratic rights; or intentionally create a permissive environment for others to achieve the results in (1) or (2)

Organisations or individuals added to the list will not be criminalised, unlike terrorist groups. Instead, they will be barred from contact with government and will not be able to receive government funding.

Looks like we’re finally going to separate church and state!
