This is exactly how I feel too! As a "cloud engineer" (even the titles are pointless) the last thing I want to do is to have anything to do with tech whatsoever, even if I like my job

This guy is gonna be the end of all of us. I feel sorry for Americans with an IQ above.. 70 for having to watch this in real-time and live through the age of stupidity

And likewise in a time with such a strong pushback against knowledge, science, and innovation.. Oh the things humanity could achieve without these destructive forces!

So you do recognise that. Then why are you spending so much energy defending Bezos and people like him?

Sure, regular people should rise up and retake power. Take back resources from the billionaires. Idk who "we" are - but I don't live in USA, and if I did I wouldn't be living in a democracy. There are plenty of plans for how to save the planet and they all include stopping billionaires and fundamentally changing the system. Think Bezos will bankroll it if we ask him nicely?

I love seeing that various forms of protest and pressure actually works! Unfortunately, companies tend to go where they think the capital is, so it's for the common people to bring about change and to pressure them in the right direction (unfortunately).

Really depends on the society. South Korea, for example, is definitely genuinely threatened by its way too sharp decline - including culturally. Otherwise I agree that negative effects are generally overexaggerated and that the future will inevitably demand less human labour.

That adds a bit more context to your stance, although it's quite narrowminded imo.

Europe is filled with tax havens from Monaco to Andorra to Ireland to the Netherlands to Luxembourg, and British overseas territories. It's not only a Swiss sport to have unfair tax systems. Other current EU members have traditionally been neutral such as Sweden, Finland (although forced), Austria etc..

Then talking about "taxes to the EU community" and mentioning Germany in a reality where German fiscal policies have dictated those of most everyone else - until they now decide it benefits them to change their own - German policies towards Russian energy, Meloni's flirtation with dictators and fascism, Spanish friendship with China, and increasing anti-EU and anti-Ukraine sentiment in most countries.

Now tell me why I should have a particularly hard stance on Switzerland? Choosing EU companies first is completely fair, but don't justify it with some holier-than-thou attitude.

Oh don't worry, using Duolingo would've never taught you a language anyway!

Well, taking bribes seems to not only be tolerated but encouraged by the current administration. Can't break the law if you are the law!

Sorry, let me just rewrite that for you.

The masculine, strong, and very straight MAN Mike Waltz, a well-known defender of masculinity and champion of the deprived, had his Twitter account hacked by evil COMMUNISTS in an attempt to make him appear WEAK. But we, THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, will NOT stand for this INSULT towards this sincere, hard-working AMERICAN.

I don't have any hard set-in-stone viewpoints either, to be fair. I feel like I have a set of core beliefs values, but otherwise I'm fairly impressioniable and feel differently depending on the specific topic. I never understood people who just label themselves by a specific ideology and then just base everything off of that.

I gotta say I feel a great deal of sympathy with what Luigi stands for though. Murder may be despicable, but if the common people don't stand up against the unfair system no one will - and I certainly feel no sympathy for the victim. Especially in this Trumpian era of tech-fascists trying to turn all of humanity into slaves.

However, I do agree with your take. The news are designed for shock value and quick consumption. It's not a meaningful pursuit - and I've personally spent too much energy on Trump.. although it's hard not to since I'm Danish and he wants to invade us..

I narrowly missed out on a ban for saying that any Nazi deserves to get slapped. Apparently that's "encouraging violence"
