Voted PSL, and yah, I am terrified.

The difference is I am also terrified about what will happen with the Democrats in power. About the unlimited slop being handed to the military-industrial complex so they can ship guns to Israel to continue a genocide. About the crackdown on immigrants and refugees. About the global poor being crushed under the bootheels of American-led capitalism.

To support the Democratic party is to actively decide to place less value on the lives of non-Americans, something I simply cannot do. You want to vote for Harris as harm reduction, be my guest. But understand that the problems facing America cannot, and will not, be solved by voting. Voting should be an absolutely minor thing in the totality of your political actions. Join, start, or support a union. Find what mutual aids groups are nearby, and participate. Join protests. Pressure your local politicians. Support your comrades in their direct action campaigns. Build political power that is under your control, not the control of a system invented in the 1700s by a bunch of wealthy white slaveowners.

I note with interest that you are repeatedly posting the same cherry-picked factoid.

Average cost per mile for new track in the USA can be anywhere from $100mil/mile to over $1billion/mile for complicated projects like tunneling. This is roughly 50% higher than Europe - most likely for the simple fact that they have a larger industry for it. These are both quite high on an international scale- China builds new track for 24-48mil USD per mile.

Trollkin from Iron Kingdoms. They are what the name says: kin to trolls. About the same relationship as humans have to gorillas.

They retain a lot of the regenerative powers, so they're very willing to settle things with violence, because hey, what's regrowing an arm or two between friends?

They're big, loud, rambunctious, deeply respectful of nature, and are basically Big Dwarves. Also orcs? They don't really have an analogue, which is why I like them so much.

On the contrary. They are critiquing your choice, as you requested. And they did so quite logically too. The ability to choose your actions does not shield you from criticism.

And yes, you have far more choice in what you consume and how you live your life than someone a hundred or a thousand years ago. This means that, "well we used to live that way" is no longer a moral defense.

You respect the environment, you want to live sustainably, yes? Then how do you square that with meat eating being an order of magnitude more harmful to it? It takes far, far more land and resources to support one meat-eater compared to one plant-eater. Surely the land has suffered enough?

Given that the people who care about not doing factory farming are generally also quite in favor of wildlife preservation, by the time you have the one you will probably have the other. There's already animal rescues that take in farm animals.

I get your concern (this is the first time I'm hearing about it and oof). I would however point out that the core of transhumanism is the idea that we should have the freedom to modify our own bodies however we want. This is how I've always heard it used and how I'm going to keep using it.

I do understand where those people are coming from, though. If you have the technology to e.g. eliminate sickle cell anemia and choose not to do it, that's as much eugenics as choosing to do so. I don't know how to square that with individual liberty. Having parents decide is....not necessarily a great solution. Having society decide is also not a good solution, but probably the one we'll have to end up doing.

Ohhh, no, they would not. It's usually just a patty. If you're using a ground beef replacer, stick with the Impossible.

Mass Effect 2 and 3 are up there with some of the best shooters I've played. It's just so smooth. And the weight/CDR system is incredibly simple yet impactful. I've played through 3 several times. Yes, the story beats weren't always great. Still fun.

EDIT: Since we're posting favorite builds: Sentinel gang. What's that, I have access to literally everything you need to beat any enemy? Yes please.

Once again, I will point out that people only have these concerns when somebody is trans, not when they're cis.

Also, do you think that a parent who is accepting of their kid being trans is going to be intolerant if the kid changes their mind? Of course not. No one is locking this kid into their gender identity; that's the entire frickin' point of the trans movement.

Your 'concerns' are either extremely misguided or a shield for transphobia, so you should probably knock it off.

Literally true; but also yes. A car that doesn't look before turning is the same whether it's ICE or EV. I'm a bus-and-walking guy, not a bike guy, but any car is a danger to me when I'm crossing the street. It's not a problem we're going to solve with batteries. Mass transit, raised crosswalks, narrowing roads, physical speed controls, and densified cities (to name a few) are all things we desperately need.

Switch to an in-universe time length.

'This spell recharges at the next dawn, as long you have fleemed the scrabinator.'

'This spell can be recharged by having a really good meal with your closest friends.'

'To recharge this spell, you must sacrifice a male hare on an alter to your god under the full moon.'

This provides a sub-task that the caster is motivated to reach for, which helps with RP and moving the story along.
