I think we should get crystal clear on this: targeting civilians is an intentional tactical choice of both Hamas and the PLO.

I agree. I'm sure that the IDF has greatly exaggerated the level of violence committed by Palestinian fighters, but there's a tendency in western leftist spaces to present violence against settler "civilians" as unjustifiable and argue that it was accidental or that it didn't happen.

I've said it before: when you're being colonized, it's ridiculous for the colonizers to expect you to limit any violence you might commit in your struggle for liberation to only targets they say you can attack (heavily fortified military positions armed to the teeth, so that you can be pointlessly slaughtered).

The settlers forced Palestinians into a ghetto and murdered and abused them for decades while living on the stolen land. These tactics are the only option Palestinians have left, because Israel has made it clear that violence is the only language it's willing to speak. It doesn't mean that every person that dies deserves to, but that's not the point. Israel holds all the cards. All the violence in this conflict could stop today if they chose it. This is only happening because all other options were foreclosed to the Palestinians.

The Muslim Students Association at this same university is urging everybody not to go.

Pathetic lmao. Imagine caring more about your petty reactionary grievance than supporting the Palestinian struggle.

clueless Surely this won't backfire at all.

matt-jokerfied I'm going to lose it when liberals start to justify this as "opposing Hamas" in the FUCKING WEST BANK.

Edit: ISRAEL ALREADY CLAIMING IT WAS AN ATTACK ON HAMAS. idf-cool

After the revolution we'll have to Gulag people like this for being criminally clueless and their re-education will consist of learning literally anything about anything at all.

The US reflexively sympathizes with Abbas because the PA security forces are shooting protesters. Game recognize game.

I'm sure the Israeli state will publish a very sad press release after their thorough investigation reveals that the two million people crammed inside it are vaporized by a "malfunctioning Hamas" MOAB.

All the people insisting violence will never work and will be counterproductive for the Palestinian cause in shambles.

Regardless of what your opinion is on Hamas' tactics, I don't think it can be said that they're ineffective.

If only westerners did nothing, instead they stand on the side wringing their hands about "islamic terrorism" while Israel massacres Palestinians using weapons they only have because of the west.

Why did Israel have your sympathy before?

Social Democrat

Oh, yes, that makes perfect sense. Still, I have to give him credit for this being a much better opinion than I expected from a European Social Democrat.
