If you do that you miss much of the best Trek villains:

Kai Wynn and Gul Dukat

They are part of reason folks are advising you to hang in there.

But ultimately just enjoy it and skip any episode that is boring you; if you make it halfway you’ll probably want to watch the few relevant ones you skipped.

p.s. Buckle up 🖖

If Kirk is going to come back, it has to mean something. It has to be the show. But I was so impressed by this writer, so I said let's talk after I'm done in Vancouver.

He had me in the first half, but thankfully this doesn't sound like another vanity project ala Picard S1/S2 🤞

Ahh, thanks for the clarification

...all estimates to date project that the series will debut on Paramount+ sometime in 2026. In the meantime, the show has already been renewed for a second season of production.

Glad they believe in it enough to want a second season.

Now I wait until 2026 to see Parrises squares onscreen at last 🙏

Cheers

The disappointment and dejection in his voice is perfectly appropriate for AI slop 😎

Star Trek Star Wars, spacey scifi, same bullshit.

Offending user indeed!

But seriously this individual is dumping toxins like a Capt Planet villain. I felt gross after scrolling their profile.

As one who played every Dragon Age game, this expresses much of how I feel as well.

After such a long wait I wanted another Origins or Inquisition, but I got something else and it was a fine, forgettable, C+ entry. A game that wants you to wave a giant foam finger instead have thoughtful choices, but at least it delivered an ending.

My dude you’ve had the patience of a saint, which makes this final rebuke so fucking tasty 🌶️🔥

Long answer, but good answer friend.

This in particular is gold:

in this future, humanity still succumbs to the pains and pitfalls of present-day life in a way that suggests we won’t grow out of them

I thought Section 31 was some shit clinging to the bowl, but the writers keep assimilating it into the Star Trek matrix so much so that it implies the Federation of TNG is a naive facade 😔

I've never been here before and I already want the bread flair 🤙

I am now subscribed so I can witness the revolution; OP made a compelling case for a bunch of shit I never even considered and now I want to see what happens.

To me at least, it is 3 difference concepts taking turns driving a single program. S1-2 feel like the TNG formula, but with the twist of a primitive crew and ship. S3 feels like a mutiny of star trek itself. S4 feels like they sort of forgot they were supposed to backfill the canon.

That being said, I've walked away with it among my favorite treks. I personally rank Degra right up there with Dukat and Kai Wynn as some of the most distinct and well-developed trek villains.
