Mark Hamill is on Bluesky.

Suck it Shatner.

[-] cybervseas@lemmy.world 31 points 10 months ago

Okay but George Takei is on Mastodon.

[-] BarrelAgedBoredom@lemm.ee 9 points 10 months ago

Wow you went right there to the edge, didn't you? (username checks out!)

...and BlueSky.

[-] pyre@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

he's also a genocide apologist. suck it Hamill.

edit: oh it's inconvenient when it's someone you like. I'm sure if you downvote hard enough he will go back in time to untweet his support for Israel while they were committing genocide.

My brutal but fair take:

I feel the bigwigs for Star Trek would sacrifice us all, in a heartbeat, for their own Grogu to get the kiddos buying merch.

[-] OhStopYellingAtMe@lemmy.world 8 points 10 months ago

I dunno. They’ve been pretty hesitant to mass merchandise. It took Lego until this year to finally get them to license Star Trek for Lego builds. (And yes I will be buying a Lego original series enterprise bridge diorama, if the make one)

[-] MaggiWuerze@feddit.org 2 points 10 months ago

What? Blue Brixx has been making Star Trek models for years. Their delta flyer is amazing

[-] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 2 points 10 months ago
[-] MaggiWuerze@feddit.org 2 points 10 months ago

Yes? The point was that Star Trek was not merchandised and not that it wasn't merchandized by Lego. There have been plenty of Star Trek merch deals

[-] cattywampas@lemm.ee 2 points 10 months ago

If they release a massive $1000 Enterprise-D I am all over that shit.

[-] dontpanic@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 10 months ago

Where will I put it? That’s a problem for future me, now shut up and take my money.

[-] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 3 points 10 months ago

I say we spend $100,000,000 on lego and build a 1:1 scale enterprise D in the local, uh gravity is still real so ocean? Who's with me.

[-] MelodiousFunk@slrpnk.net 2 points 10 months ago

I got the Mega Bloks TOS Enterprise on clearance for like $50 7-8 years ago. Still haven't built it, nowhere to put it. ☹️

[-] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago

They had an agreement with Mega Bloks back in the day

[-] surewhynotlem@lemmy.world 3 points 10 months ago

They missed the window. Tribbles could've been the first beanie babies.

[-] Brkdncr@lemmy.world 2 points 10 months ago
[-] sxan@midwest.social 1 points 10 months ago

I would, if they sold an action figure.

I know, this is c/tenforward and the last two should be flipped for the community... but my heart can't lie.

[-] Pickle_Jr@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 10 months ago

You say that but yet they refuse to make an official moopsy plush. I would go all in on moopsy but noooo

[-] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago

Yes but will it devour the pile of bones in definitely not my basement?

[-] jmcs@discuss.tchncs.de 3 points 10 months ago

I've not seen any bones laying around since I got one.

[-] OpenStars@piefed.social 0 points 10 months ago

username checks out

Wow... it's been a minute since I said that!

[-] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 2 points 10 months ago

it is important to note that none of the bones are sapient or screaming. this is not my fault.

one day i will complete the droning throne of bone. one day.

[-] FlashMobOfOne@lemmy.world 10 points 10 months ago

Now seems a good time to remind people to just let people enjoy things.

[-] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 7 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

as a polyscifist i celebrate both. also the multitude of Bs

[-] caboose2006@lemm.ee 7 points 10 months ago

I hope this is a true post

[-] Grabthar@lemmy.world 4 points 10 months ago

That's a tough one. I'd have to say April 25 because it's not too hot, not too cold. All you need is a light jacket.

[-] AmazingAwesomator@lemmy.world 2 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

are we not counting revenge of the 5th?

edit: well, it was so bad that it only deserves 1/4 of a day. nvm...

[-] edgemaster72@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago

Is that what happens when Star Wars fans find out about Cinco de Quatro invading their turf?

[-] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 4 points 10 months ago

star wars and cinco de quatro are pretty compatible

[-] teft@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

Oh great, does this mean we’re going to have to follow StarWar just like we followed Data on Data’s day?

I’m really not up for a wedding episode today, you lunkhead.

[-] klu9@lemmy.ca 1 points 10 months ago

But don't forget to remind them they're actually celebrating Margaret Thatcher's day.

[-] hOrni@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago

Actually the 8th of April is celebrated as Thatcher day.

[-] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago

It was a lovely day to be married too

[-] ABetterTomorrow@lemm.ee 0 points 10 months ago

What would be a Star Trek day? Is there any date that comes to mind?

[-] klemptor@startrek.website 4 points 10 months ago

April 5th (First Contact day)

[-] ABetterTomorrow@lemm.ee 1 points 10 months ago

Next year, we shall engage the internet on April 5th as Star Trek first contact day!

[-] klemptor@startrek.website 2 points 10 months ago

Make it so!

Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.

~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Remember that diversity and coexistence are Star Trek values. Any post/comments that are racist, anti-LGBT, or generally "othering" of a group will result in removal/ban.

~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.

~ 3. Use spoiler tags. Use spoiler tags in comments, and NSFW checkbox for posts.
This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.

~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.

~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.

~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.

~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon'
