No, I went and found that one. It's got a crater impact of deleted comments around it.

I sort of saw where they were trying to come from but it is a bit silly.

Huh. Yeah, I uploaded a 25 second clip so I guess I wouldn't have ran into a problem.

I suppose so, yeah. Although I didn't really like Red's characterization because it seemed so platitudinal. Otherwise yeah, it looks nice and feels, for the most part, human.

At the end of the day, what can one expect from a Stephen King hollywood adaptation?

EDIT: I love One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest for that reason, although I guess that's a more cynically ending film. The big moment for Chief gives me more catharsis than Andy or Red's escape.

The Oscars are just an advertising scheme these days. Maybe it always was.

Barbie was a good light hearted comedy. Oppenheimer was boring. Poor Things I'm yet to see but from the trailer alone I can see that it's going to be overplayed 'deadpan' and 'surreal' in the way that many modern movies are... or aren't, I should say.

Cinema is in a shite state. I couldn't give less of a fuck about the majority of films that come out these days. Look at the success of Saltburn. It's all mindless garbage based around actors with the star power to put bums on seats. I come out of most movies these days with ambivalence at best.

Tbh I feel that this site has been more focused on culture war bullshit than before. And like, cutesy terminally online shitposts about power users or peepeepoopoo posting.

I know it's fun, but I do enjoy the more effortposty and analysis based content.

Or maybe I'm way off and reminiscing over something that never really was.
