Under socialism, every other week is fat bear week. The off weeks are for average-sized bears so we appreciate the fat ones even more.

That is a perfect size for a blackwater tank! Prepping blackwater for water changes in bulk is a pain so nano tanks save you a lot of work. I just throw a few alder cones in a gallon jug of RO water overnight with an air stone and it is good to go.

The betta will love the blackwater, though. I've also got a betta in my setup and the tannins really do calm them down. Mine is a male so I was really just hoping he'd tolerate the other fish, but I never expected to see him get along with the gourami so well. They even shoal together sometimes.

It has happened. We got a mandatory training course afterward with some multiple choice quiz, so I think we are safe now.

Um how did I not know you kept an aquarium? I love neocaridina. We don't cull our shrimp tanks so we've got the full rainbow at this point, but I try to separate the prettier color morphs into their own tanks to pass on those traits.

I just finally took the plunge with caridina shrimp for the first time and it's been super rewarding. I added a mix of black and red crystal shrimp in a blackwater setup with my licorice gourami. They're slightly more sensitive than cherries and require a little more planning to get right, but the difficulty is greatly exaggerated.

I (secretly) loved the card game as a teenager. I was too old for it according to all of my peers, but I'd still play with my little brother "just to be nice." He even had that big card mat thing that Yugi wears on his arm... it was sick and I had to pretend I wasn't super jealous whenever we'd play in front of company.
