I was surprised to see him promoting Linux as well. People should not be shy about this.

Configuration gui standard. Usually there is a config file that I am suppose to edit as root and usually done in the terminal.

There should be a general gui tool that read those files and obey another file with the rules. Lets say it is if you enable this feature then you can't have this on at the same time. Or the number has to be between 1 and 5. Not more or less on the number. Basic validation. And run the program with --validation to let itself decide if it looks good or not.

Block Chrome and use anything not Chrome based. In other words use Firefox.

Microsoft got to much time on their hands. Can they please work on the more important stuff like completing the transition from controlpanel to settings?

[-] Mio@feddit.nu 24 points 1 year ago

Thank you for all this time. I still use it today, along with pidgin.

I don't get WHY I have to choose. Default should be reject all. If there is no reject then just accept it. How hard can this be to get on the Internet?

I hate the cookie popup.

Real buttons that you can feel. Hence could use them without looking at the screen.

Even if it exists, then it does not have to be good. Look at Microsoft Teams.

As someone once said to me. Microsoft is not something you like, but is something you have to withstand due to Enterprise use it so much, and have so many users.

But when it comes to the browser, then you have to follow the standard for HTML, and suddenly you can choose something else.

I just installed apt cacher ng for catching my apt upgrade packages and saw a huge time improvement even though I have a good internet connection. It act as a proxy and caches the response packages.

Do you run something similar? Or maybe even run a local repo mirror? Warning, they are really big so I don't think it is recommended unless you really need almost everything.
