FUCK ALL REPUBLICANS
Using the word 'trauma' isn't about people trying to be dramatic. Most autistic people (especially late diagnosed autistic folks who don't understand why they feel so alienated), suffer from actual, clinical trauma. It stems from a lifetime of misunderstandings, cruel treatment from nuerotypicals, and societies built on ableist systems:
Don't worry everyone, the Consumer Protection Agency will take care of...
Oh, nvmd.
There is an entire sub-genre in Comics of cartoons riffing on Garfield like this one. Nearly every cartoonist has done it and, oh my lord, it fills me with joy & reminds me why I actually love people.
I started using Reddit in 2008 (kill me). One of the of the defining traits of the site at the time was the fact everything was anonymous. It was considered taboo to expose your Reddit persona to your irl circles. Hell, I still don't have an email associated with my Reddit account.
It's been interesting, and a little tragic, to watch that attitude erode over the years and then see Reddit itself encourage the idea of creating a unique identity to cash in.
Lemmy is way more like the original Reddit & I'll actually admit to using Lemmy, even though no one knows wtf I'm on about.
Please don't get me confused, I don't think it's good this many men voted for The Stain. Also, 52% of WHITE women, but I bet if you combined ALL women, that number would drop dramatically.
My broader point is, IMO, that 42% never gets talked about so why would it grow, yeah?
Or, put another way, when I talk about women, who are my allies against the Patriarchy, I speak of why I like them (because I do, I LOVE women). They are resilient, strong, resourceful, grounded, etc, all the good stuff, and I try to include all women in that, they are my allies. I try NOT to focus on trad wives, manipulators, "gold diggers", abusers, weirdos like MTG or Caitlyn Jenner , you know, bad people (and there are plenty).
But when I hear about men in the ally space, it feels like I hear all about how awful and dangerous we are and that's it. And there's ALWAYS this group of guys willing to go along with it and point and go "yeah, we totally suck! You guys saying we don't are the real problem!" But, how is that motivating to anyone? It makes me upset, anyways. Maybe I'm just a big emotional baby, who knows?
Anyways, I'm blabbing. Bad habit of mine.
I actually love the fact that stadiums full of people go to political rallies and get jazzed about policy speeches. It's strange, right? But I'm glad it's something we get collectively psyched about. In a democracy, it (usually) feels healthy.
According to media lawyers, maybe. But when I have a CD of music, or a game cartridge, I can sell it to someone else. For money. Because it's my copy I'm selling. So, what the fuck are you talking about except ceding the point to corporate lawyers for no good reason?
God, this fucking debate has been going on for decades with you nerds. Bieb or Hannah there's no right answer, use whichever works best for you!
Is that right? Because it seems to me the Republicans can't even muster up the respect to address the Democratic Party as the Democratic Party and insist on calling it the Democrat Party just to be a bunch of fucking disrespectful assholes. Party leaders have been doing so for decades.
But please, continue your Ted Talk about childish behavior...
"Some Democrats say..." Way to marginalize the obvious threat, BezosPost.
Give the propaganda machine a little time to massage those smooth, malleable maga brains, they'll come around.
