You are the one with reading comprehension problem here. No one expects most of the content to not be about the US. You bringing it up the way you did was pretty extra.

Wonder how much of it is because of Threads and how much of it is from making the site inaccessible without accounts and the rate limit.

Eh, I think you're thinking about nuclear fission? The guy you replied to was talking about nuclear fusion.

That's not really what OP is saying though? They're talking about corporate efforts to make it seems like the consumers are the problem, not them, and many are still falling for it. As long as the awareness of this is not raised and more people aren't pointing fingers at the corporates the whole don't buy their product is never going to be effective, same for advocating for regulations (rather, especially the regulations). You're assuming everyone knows the root of the problem already, but that's just not the case here.

Do you happen to have the link to that part?

I think it's nice to have a spectrum of agreement on "this is okay", as long as we don't stray into the more universally agreed "this is not okay". It's probably one of the more robust ways to decide where to draw the line when in reality a hard line doesn't exist.

On reddit you could see karma breakdown by subreddit which was useful to see where people were most active

You can? I have never paid attention to karma I had no idea. I thought that's just something that mods see to help them moderate.

If this is implemented it'll be good for the communities to be able to go where they want, but there's a good chance it can become a source of drama if the net result is smaller communities choosing to migrate to larger instances.

Also, the logistic behind large magazines spawning their own instances only make sense if there's an option for users to subscribe to an entire instance. AFAIK that's impossible right now (or I don't know how to, if anyone know please tell me), so that is something to keep in mind.
