It's almost comical that his election tagline was, "vote for change", and then he refused to accept the change his constituents voted for.

That's a great point. Doesn't much matter if there are methods in place if many are complicit in the tyranny.

I feel the global economy won't be too bad off. Likely some collateral damage, but the United States on the other hand...

I blame the moon for not being blue more often.

That is promising, though it would be a good next step to the consumption sites rather than a replacement for them.

The consumption sites would be good first points of contact so users could be provided the treatment centre information.

As a rural physician spouse, your family thanks you.

It is not one bit your fault. Incompetent government and educational institutions could see this coming for decades, but chose, and continue to choose to do nothing.

Boomers retiring and population growth are pretty obvious needs for more healthcare resources, not to mention not doing anything to help homelessness and addictions. Combined with that, med school faculty, at least in my home province, actively dissuade students from entering family medicine, and the university hasn't increased its intake volume in years.

Everyone in rural medicine feels this pressure. The responsible thing is to keep the balance that keeps you healthy, for a physician who is there working the hours a typical worker might work is still providing far better service than if they weren't there at all.

Definitely an effective way to make a political ally.

However, it's possibly intended to be that way. Now he can tell his base that he asked the NDP to join him and they refused.

I think there's a lot of opportunity for reducing wasted energy in many buildings. Even the term "waste heat" is indicative that energy is typically exhausted when it could be used for space or water heating. Obviously mechanical modifications would be needed, sometimes extensive, but it's a good option for reducing energy use.

I think carbon footprint calculations should really include imported carbon. My "electronic device" was manufactured in China. The carbon emitted in its manufacture should follow the product to me, as I am the reason it was manufactured.

People blaming China and other countries that manufacture a significant amount of products with relatively dirty power are really just shirking the blame. When imported carbon is considered, the US and Canada are the worst polluters per capita.

EV maintenance cost is quite low compared to ICE vehicles. Brakes and suspension are probably the biggest wear items, but brakes have comparatively less wear because of the regen braking.
