The problem isn't LEDs though. The technology isn't what's making it bright.

The regulation needs to be specific about what they want the end result to be, not about the specific technology used.

Like: there should be a mode of operation where oncoming traffic at x distance, seated at y height, on level roads should not experience more than z brightness.

Yeah, but it's a pretty pathetic passtime. At least find a good reason, rather than doing literally the thing you want them to do.

Like, insulting them for leaving is just as bad as them crying that their toxic behavior scares people away. It makes no sense.

Most clients make having multiple accounts super easy.

Not that I'd know anything about that 🫣

Because it sounds like a porno title?

That's true, but that's also just the general populous, who weren't ever contributing to open source anyways.
I don't think the quality of coders (professional or hobby) has really declined that much.

I mean... The account exists if you log into it or not. You still need to keep track of it so that you're paying into the correct account, and so that you know how much to pay.

Only you now have to talk to a person if you need to check or change anything.

What does "on tiktok" mean?

Unsupervised with their own accounts? I feel like that's difficult to believe. Watching a few tiktoks before dinner with their parents? That doesn't really strike me as a problem.

While I don't entirely disagree with the author, I feel like this is a far too superficial look at what is a larger societal problem: young people have checked out.

He makes the argument that mental health is in decline, and I'm not sure if that's true or we've just removed the stigma from therapy... But of more concern to me is that young people just DGAF, and I think that's because older generations have left nothing for younger generations to inherit, besides ruin. Kids 5-7 aren't gonna understand that, but they're gonna pick up the vibes from their parents.

Yeah, it's cyclical. They're re-entering their shithead phase.

Embrace. Extend. Extinguish. The got smacked with those EU antitrust lawsuits and they reset back to Embrace, and started participating in open-source again. Then they started extending by doing shit like buying GitHub and adding even more cool shit to it. Now they're entering in extinguish phase where they're doing shit like making it difficult to change default browser, and integrating all their services together without the ability to integrate 3rd parties.

They'll (hopefully) get smacked with another EU antitrust lawsuit and reset soon.

God, just today someone was telling me that definitions were "facts", and that staying "LGBTQ" was "changing the meaning of the alphabet" somehow.

They were celebrating a bunch of women not being able to attend a job fair, but then started telling me that they were "protecting women"

Some of the workers may be managerial. But the managerial workers don't own a disproportionate amount of the company, and they're not considered the "superior" of any other workers.

Unfortunately, an appeal to the environment will never work with Smith's voter base. It needs to be framed by their concerns: business, economy, and costs.

Oil is becoming less profitable, and the longer they stay focused on it, they fall further behind the rest of the energy industry. They were poised to be leaders, but they're selling the future of their economy for a quick buck now.
