Lunacid, great lil' game until you decide to try and get all the achievements.

Ending spoilersThe one thing I don't really like is how all of the world building is more or less inavlidated by the classic "it's just a dream bro".
Yes, the dreamer is supposedly an eldritch being, but I'd like to appreciate all the tiny little lore connections you can find without the looming threat of "this doesn't make sense because it's all a dream".

Like with skeletons.
Why skeletons?
All enemies in the game have some sort of explaination, from the simple "this is a fog beast" to "holy knights cursed themselves and became abominable horses, tainting vampire cattle and turning their captors into the puddle of harm that currently stands in your way".

But skeletons?
They don't have any explaination, unlike the mummies of the Temple of Silence - they're just nondescript undead enemies where undead enemies thematically fit. The dreamer put them there, because it's a dream.

This is the 7th time I see a picture of a table like this, I guess this type of furniture is gaining traction

Microsoft is definitely the corpoest of them all.

Probably not the worst corpo, likely even, but out of the corpos, they are the most corpo corpo of any corpo.

  1. They own LinkedIn, and I could just stop this list here.
  2. They're the founding fathers of Embrace, Extend and Extinguish.
  3. They are the vanguard of videogame studio consolidation, after buying Activision and Bethesda.
  4. AI
  5. Everything they do is soggy bread: you can eat it, it's probably mostly healthy, I think, but if a product is not the minimum viable product then it will be; take the Halo franchise as a reference for blandness, Windows for end user tolerance - both are controversial yet functional and popular software that people complain (and do nothing) about. Halo took quite a hit in popularity, but still...
  6. Remember when a software company got in trouble for monopolistic practices? That was a thing that happened at some point, and it was Microsoft. Not that it will ever happen again, nowadays all the cool kids have some slice of the tech landscape on a chokehold.

It's not Discord, it's some project that has a Discord community

Nah, go public and commit to a restless chase that gets exponentially demanding and caters to a bunch of disinterested bottom-feeders rather than improving services and products for the customers

(The "Windows" slices of the pies are entirely made up by Baldur's Gate 3, which also runs well over Linux)

I don't know if Firefox is at fault. It could be Firedragon (the fork I'm using), it could be any of the desktop portals messing things up (looking at you, xdg-desktop-portal-gtk), it could be Arch Linux due to how packagers package each portal, it could be that I stepped on a landmine by switching from Sway to Hyprland - this is when the problem first occurred.

Firedragon's (and the Firefox flatpak's) output doesn't say anything, nothing stands out in their logs, same goes for both Sway and Hyprland - for all I know XDG portals don't even have standalone logs, they just dump error messages to stdout in my experience (which, again, have not been dumped).

I could send bug reports to everyone, and get told "this isn't our problem, write a bug report to ${OTHER_SOFTWARE}". But then, which logs do I provide? All of them? Sure, I can gather up logs and non-existent messages from several pieces of software, one of them being a glorified API.

It would have taken me a good hour to find the relevant data, find the correct places to write reports to, word things in a quasi-professional manner, all for a small chance for any of the developers of something to answer something that is not a variation of "can't help you bro, your logs are anorexic".

So, after reminiscing the days of writing Windows registry keys and seeing no results (by writing XDP hints all over the system AND rebooting), I took 10 minutes to vent and make a meme - NoScript was intefering with imgflip, otherwise I would have needed 3.

I could not, in fact, definitely have raised a bug report in the time it took me to make this.

Addendum: I reinstalled the GTK portal because I was desperate, now I can't even use that UX abomination because who the

knows

(As it turns out, the cause was a previous attempt to get xdg-desktop-portal-termfilechooser to work - I'm just going to sneak this edit in here and go die in a corner or something)
