I use 2 kinds in my house.

Aqara Smart Plugs. Zigbee based, runs from the ZHA integration, has control and monitoring built in. Only does up to 10A. Well known brand. Nous A1Z Smart Plugs. Same as the Aqara, but smaller, handles up to 16A but the brand is not as known as Aqara.

None of them exists in black as far as I know. I go for the Nous ones going forward, as they are smaller and can handle more power hungry devices.

So what is the TrueNAS server doing at this time? Have you checked the logs?

I would image it might be some backup, snapshotting or optimization.

Nextcloud might be overkill, but it does have all those features and more. It's literally made for organizations to keep track of contacts, documents, tasks, kanban like boards, notes and lots of other stuff.

I have some on freezers, and one on an air fryer that does 2400W. That's the biggest loads I have.

Just to clarify. In-kernel drivers is not the same as open source firmware. Most bluetooth dongles use the in-kernel driver, but require proprietary firmware to be loaded before they work. Most of that firmware is present in the linux-firmware packages/repository, but the setup would no longer be FOSS only.

That's awesome!

I use the feedreader from within Thunderbird for RSS. But I just use it to track software releases. Not articles and such.

It's not even an update, it's a rebuild to add a missing dependency.

Just updated my Arch laptop to Beta 2 this morning. Can't wait to use it much more later. :)

Thanks for the detailed response.

So nixpkgs is more akin to the AUR, then a binary repository? The AUR is also just build scripts.

I wouldn't call the Paper for maps and the figurines required. They are a great visual aid, but for people just starting out as a DM it's overkill.

The main reason to play D&D, for me, is to use your imagination. So as long as you describe the environment and what happens, most should get by with just a players handbook, dungeon masters guide (for special items and such), dice, sheets and pencils. The screen is also a good tool, especially for some quick information on states. But it is not required to run a small campaign.

That's already here with systemd 255 which released recently.
