It's not the button icons themselves that are tripping me as much as the menu confirm & cancel buttons being flipped on Nintendo devices compared to the usual Xbox and PlayStation setup.
Just tried it for a bit and the performance seems slightly better than on Xenia. Crucially though, the game just looks much cleaner right out of the gate presumably since the game just looks nicer on Switch than it did on the 360. I'll try a 60fps unlock patch and see what that does.
The worst part is the wack Nintendo button layout. It's like I'm playing Japanese PS1 games.
Well, I'm going to give it a shot, let's see how it shakes out.
I mean, the game takes place in cowboy times
Jiggling boobs and related things like panty shots in video games have a long history, especially in Japan, going back to hand-animated 2D arcade games. I think it's just horny hetero cis male nerds designing and animating female characters and putting all of their fetishes on screen.
While I guess there's some initial basis in reality "boobs are squishy and would respond to movement" (at least if no bras are involved) video game boob physics have basically evolved into an artform of their own far removed from the real world. Gamers expect boobs to be big and to move noticeably.
It gets funny when everyone has the same exaggerated physics regardless of what they're wearing, like in this game. Even if a woman is wearing standard office attire with a blazer there's still a mini earthquake happening in her chest everytime she takes a step. The only exception seems to be full traditional kimonos worn with obis.
I'm guessing her character model gets repositioned slightly for the cutscene, which to the boob physics system reads like she just moved at Mach 2 with inertia to match. This also happens any time you interact with anything.
Tecmo apparently used the Dead or Alive engine for this game and didn't think this would be detrimental to the atmosphere of the horror game they were making. Other design and story choices are kinda dubious too. It's just annoying because this series didn't use to be like this
I like caves too but I don't like how infinitely sprawling they are. I get kind of anxious when I think I've mapped out a cave system only to discover an opening leading to another one that's 10 times larger, which leads to 10 other cave systems, which open to 10 more cave systems, etc
