I didn't say otherwise. I actually use both GNOME and KDE. GNOME on my personal machine and KDE on the work laptop.

The other thing is just how much I hate Windows Update. I can tolerate most parts of Windows, but WU is objectively terrible. It's incredibly slow, requires multiple restarts (sometimes forced!) amd sometimes fails with random errors that are impossible to troubleshoot.

It goes without saying that most Linux package managers work incredibly well in comparison.

Road shipping isn't really cheaper, they just get to put $10 of operational cost on the taxpayer for every $1 they spend. You're basically subsidizing artificially cheap shipping.

Could you explain this? Is it because taxes pay for roads?

FDM does some clever things to boost download speeds. It splits up a download into different chuncks, and somehow downloads them concurrently. It makes a big difference for large files (for example, Linux ISOs).

I don't care much about upvotes, but about activities. Most posts on Lemmy have little to no comments.

How do I become a middle manager?

This is a common misconception. Podman has similar commands to Docker CLI but it's not a "drop-in replacement". Depending on your usage, you might run into things that don't work the same.

Even the memes are pretty stale, definitely not dank. Many of these memes are reposts of stuff I saw years ago on Reddit.

I've seen those puzzle piece captchas (common on crypto exchanges) that always say I completed the puzzle faster than 99% of users (even if I didn't do the puzzle particularly fast). I presume those 99% are all bots attempting to hack into crypto wallets.

IIRC it was an April Fool's joke, where for one day everyone posted pictures of Data.

I haven't yet become addicted to Lemmy. Still relapsing from a decade of Reddit. I barely remember how to live without it.
