Something in this article strikes me, and that is the "download" part. Downloading this data was protected by internal security checks... But what about accessing the data without downloading it? Is that fine?? How much do these employees actually have access to? Most users probably haven't enabled the message encryption.

I believe you're right. In Denmark the speed limit on highways are 130 km/h and limited to 110 km/h near the larger cities. Country roads have limits of 80 km/h, some 90 km/h and some 70 km/h.

Driving 150 km/h on the highway is not safe, when everyone else is driving 130. And most of our highways only have two lanes in each direction.

The speed limit is also typically 80km/h on these barely paved roads in Denmark.

In Denmark it would be Nielsen and Jensen and first name would be Anne or Peter.

Peter Petersen, Jens Jensen and Niels Nielsen are not uncommon combinations.

Jens Jensen is actually the most common name in Denmark for men and for women it is Kirsten Jensen.

The worst part for me is mixing sayings and the construction of sentences. I've never been that good at English grammar, but after using English more and more, my grammar in my native language have gotten worse. I'm half way in a sentence, in my native language, before I notice I've started on an English saying, but directly translated to my native language and it makes no sense. But, there's no cow on the ice, as you say, because my wife and I are like pots and pans, as you also say; we are the same way.

And We Found Love.

Also Moves Like Jagger, but that somehow feels like it's... Decades... Ago... Aww. So old suddenly.

My cat is better at barking than you are :-)

Also, my dad can beat up your dad, or something like that.

Not that I'm aware of. Go nuts.

Would you like to share how you think i could become part of the solution?

[-] TwoTiredMice@feddit.dk 1 points 3 months ago

Sure, but i've just reached a point where I don't want to get bummed out, everytime I open a social media app.

There must be positive things to talk about, and not just the enshittification of everything and the end of the world.

I have nothing to compare to, but I recently bought a Dell OptiPlex 9020 for $15/£13. It works wonders. I run a handful docker containers and a VM and haven't experienced any issue since I bought it. It's my first time experimenting with a home lab setup.

Of course, you are right, omnivore. I still get my veggies, haha. My wife never became a vegetarian, and I'm the only vegetarian in our extended family, so I'm minority here and I didn't really wanted to take the fight. Also, I try to hide the fact that I don't eat industrial meat, from my kids. I don't want to influence them in anyway, and if they ever want to become vegetarian, I hope it's not because of my influence but because of their own reasons, if that makes sense.

We have an overpopulation of red deer in our local area. I'm buying it from a local estate and they only have the stock they have. If a product is sold out, it's sold out until the hunting season begins again. I actually don't mind that in any way. I absolutely hate industrial farming, but I don't think there's anything wrong with regulation of wildlife, and it helps in preserving biodiversity.

Tons of wildlife meat goes to waste each year in my country, and it's instead used for other purposes, e.g. Fertilizer.

Besides that, for those who want to eat meat, it's seems illogical to me, not eating the meat we have at hand before starting to buy meat from industrial farms. I believe it tastes better in every way than what you get from industrial farms.

I don't know how wide spread smart meters are in the US, but it should be fairly simple so have an extra tariff on these kind of consumers, or perhaps just tariffs during peak periods.

At least it could be enforced that the surplus heat from data centers had to be reused in some way, could be residental heating or ptx.
