I am a documentation writer at my day job. I spend an obscene amount of time writing and rewriting support materials for our software to make sure the instructions are as clean as possible. The end users of the software are busy doctors and nurses so I get why they dont have time to read and just want quick answers from our support team. I get that.

What I dont forgive is how many times the support team will complain to me that a scenario or a feature isnt in the documentation, despite me bolding, bullet listing, and highlighting THE EXACT THING THEY ARE COMPLAINING ABOUT. I usually relink it to them and screenshot the relevant section.

People. Do. Not. Read.

Look, anyone with a working brain should be worried about the prospect, because if he wins, then that means we're in for the worst four years (and probably much longer than four years) of our lives here in the United States. I don't think we come back from that.

You know, one time I also found a deceased man in clownish makeup in a Wendy's parking lot in '96. Had his pants down. The strangest thing.

I had the strongest need to urinate, and I inexplicably pissed all over this dead clown.

I think about it constantly.

What is this, Dragon Ball Z's Freeza arc?

"The planet will blow up in FIVE MINUTES"

Bro you're doing more than most of us, thank you.

But yeah, our carbon footprint is minuscule in comparison to corporate footprints. We need them to fucking play ball.

What's more profitable: Exceptional profits for 30 years until civilization collapses, or sustainable profits forever?

I appreciate the sentiment, but it's probably going to be a thing for awhile :) Asking the internet not to hold a grudge is like asking a fat man to skip the buffet

and I'm saying that as a fat man

The difference is, though, if you care enough, you have the capability of finding out what's in the code, the only limiters at that point are yourself

In closed source, you just have to trust the publisher and developers

I was never a hardcore Reddit user, just a casual scroller, and I have to say, with the Connect android app and after subscribing to a few communities, my experience has largely been the same. It'll be better when/if more people migrate over I feel like, but in terms of the actual experience, it's already slightly improved from Reddit.

Other than the occasional bugs, but anything getting stress tested is going to experience growing pains, and it's kind of charming. Like, new mmo launch charming. :D

I just joined Lemmy today after uninstalling Reddit Is Fun. It was absolutely surreal just how much habit was in pulling out my phone and pressing the space where RIF used to be. Decided I'm kind of mostly done with Reddit other than quick information look ups on the website.

So here I am! First post! The only constant in life is change. Hello everyone, I hope we all get along! :)
