I think the Cartels would decimate the US military. There is a 0% chance that fight stays south of the border. The Cartels would be hitting targets on American soil, and those soldiers would be getting kidnapped, and held for ransom. It would be a disaster. You'd have US politicians going into hiding out of fear. The Americans do NOT want that smoke.

Actually if history is anything to go by the liberal gives the gun to the fascist and the Marxist wrestles it away from the fascist, it goes off in the struggle shooting the liberal in the leg. The liberal screams and blames the marxist for this. The marxist manages to beat the fascist into submission, but the gun slides across the floor toward the liberal who picks it up and shoots the anarchist.
