Never in anything I wrote did I say that any Palestinian deserves the horrors that Israel has inflicted and continues to inflict upon them.

While I am against the actions of Hamas, since terrorism won't solve anything, Israel has committed crimes far worse in comparison (approximately 60,000 Palestinians killed versus approximately 1,000 Israelis). There's no doubt that Israel has gone far and beyond their stated goal of terrorism prevention to instead make progress towards their goal of clearing Gaza out for Israeli settlement.

The problem is that most Americans don't share my view on the issue of Palestine, and still view the Palestinians as instigators of violence, which is among the reasons why neither the republicans nor democrats were ever going to drop support for Israel. The best course of action, in my opinion, would have been to pick Harris to at least get the better long-term course of action for Palestine, rather than the increased risk of Israeli expansionism after Trump's re-election.

After that same guy didn't tear down the system the first time, rather giving into lobbyist interests far more than any other 'career politician' in modern American history, such as in beating the record for inaugural bribe collection he himself set eight years ago, you'd think more people would at least recognize that Trump's promises are either smoke in the wind or just a means for private interests to enrichen themselves at the expense of the American people.

An odd way to state that African Americans have disproportionately high amounts of medical debt; if anything, it's an indicator of unequal access to economic opportunities that let people afford expensive medical treatments.

Therefore, rather than shifting the narrative into one of handouts, a better solution would be to make progress on reducing the country's inflated medical costs—the result of capitalism being applied to the inelastic demand for essential medical services.

After narrowing down the "high velocity" tower fan options on Amazon two years ago to two options that seemed to have the best reviews, I ended up going with the "Dreo Pilot Pro", ordering two and for some reason being sent three. Anecdotal experience of course, and their use has been largely limited to the summer, but they seem to work a bit better than the Lasko fans they replaced without being distinctly louder. Specific settings probably depend on the exact model one chooses, but the ones I got have nine speed options.

Legislation like that might happen in places like the EU, but in the US at least, unless lobbying rules are amended, consumers stand next to no chance against the commercial interests of advertisers.

Just because there's an outdated industry standard doesn't mean it should be perpetuated, let alone supported, for eternity. Valve's server hosting costs on a per-installation basis have fallen substantially since they first launched Steam, so there's no reason why the 30% cut is still necessary; even 20% would leave them a sizable profit margin. I'm not a fan of the Epic Game Store for bribing companies to not release their games on Steam for a set amount of time, and choose not to use it as a result, but it's time that the 30% industry standard be dropped. In purchasing a game I want to support continued development of that franchise, and $15 of a $50 purchase going to the storefront is not only excessive and inflationary, but harms developers as well.

Aside from hosting cloud saves and Steam workshop data, there aren't many other services that justify a high fee to offset long-term costs. Steam trading cards, for instance, are just another source of revenue for Valve given that they also take a cut of sales from marketplace transactions.

Given that Valve's costs in developing Proton are offset by the higher Steam game purchase rates of Steam Deck users (myself included), the main benefit to developers is Steam's user base. As with Apple and the iOS app store, however, having what amounts to a monopoly in a market segment is not a justification for high platform access fees.

I'm not interested in accessing the hard drives remotely, so a NAS would probably be unnecessary for my use case.
