ARM chips have ascended to a new level, they are the backdoor
AMD Platform Security Processor
The PSP itself represents an ARM core (ARM Cortex-A5) with the TrustZone extension which is inserted into the main CPU die as a coprocessor.
Oh yea, they're definitely not on the same level, it's just some bazinga brained image I had laying around and I thought it was somewhat fitting.
75c is not that bad at all, it's well below TJ Max for like 99% of modern chips. This is just another walk in the park for laptop users who are used to seeing like 100c when playing games, lol. I'd definitely prefer my game to not eat up my entire computer for playing a custom radio station, but it's not like it's going to cause nuclear meltdown.
Nice! I've downloaded it just in case and I'll probably throw it up on Radicle later unless someone beats me to it
Of course it will be Linux based, building an entire operating system, especially one acceptable by today's standards, is a ton of work. Not something you do over a few months with a small team of dedicated engineers. Linux serves as a great starting point to (relatively) quickly build a very usable desktop operating system that can be fully independent from the rest of the world if it so desires to be.
I'd definitely recommend trying something like Fedora, it's a great distribution for beginners and comes with everything you'd need out of the box to just go about your day and you can try it out and mess around with it without actually installing it to your system. You can install software & update your system with a graphical interface, you can manage your files with a graphical interface, and you can change pretty much every setting that matters with a graphical interface. It's not as scary as you may think and I promise you will most likely never need to "type up lines of instructions to do what Windows can do with a double click". Want to install Element (the Matrix client) for example? Open up the GNOME software center, search "Element", click install, done.
New Volkswagen just dropped
Hell, even the uses Google Forms for initial on boarding where they ask you for things like your full name, phone number, e-mail address, social media handles, and all that jazz. Really big yikes moment, but I understand that hosting an open-source alternative/writing their own solution is a lot of work and they might not have the resources to pull something like that off right now, but still.
The first comment hits the nail on the head. Any time I've ever criticized charity for not actually solving any problems or the fact that it creates a parasitic relationship between the poor and the 1%, suddenly I'm the bad person because I rather tackle the problem at it's roots. Makes absolutely no sense. Good video though, recommend the watch to any of the lurkers who may be reading this.
Yep, this was the final straw for me as well. Especially with the Pi 5 having custom silicon and such, that's a huge no thanks for me... The VisionFive & Milk-V RISC-V boards look promising and I have faith in our Chinese comrades.
Hello fellow Soviet space dog!
Back in the day you could even just replace the Windows shell with Plasma, the early 2000s were interesting
