That's absurd. Refusing someone a transplant because they used to drink more than 3 drinks a week before they knew they even had liver problems is completely absurd. Calling her an alcoholic for that is even more absurd. What in the world are these people or you thinking?

Key chording has always been faster than conventional single letter typing, and that tech has been around for a long time now in the form of stenography machines. Yet most people learn on a conventional keyboard because it's simpler and more ubiquitous. This is true even now that chording has been adapted to programming and similar tasks.

You have to remember we live in a world where most people don't even know how to write properly, even those who do it as part of their job like doctors. If you draw letters by moving your fingers, you're doing it wrong by the way. The actual proper technique involves using your shoulder, elbow, and wrist to do most of the work. We've known about this for centuries, and these techniques were designed with dip pens, quils, brush, and fountain pens in mind. The cheap ballpoint pen along with rather bad instructions from teachers has led to proper handwriting technique being forgotten, and causes problems like RSI in people who handwrite regularly.

You have painted yourself into a corner, stop trying to weasel out of it. None of this is that hard.

The people being oversold are the people who don't know anything about it. I guess you can hate the people doing the over selling, but don't hate the field. It's one of the most promising areas of computer research being done right now.

Why doesn't lemmy at least have pinned comments and flairs? Seems like a serious omission to me.

Okay I am not going to lie I am pretty lost as to what you are saying here. I read this twice and I am still confused.

What does working on open source projects have to do with the culture war? Also what do you mean by culture war? Do you believe like some leftists do that it's all a distraction? Or do you think like the right wing do that it's a leftist conspiracy to changes some countries values? Or another third thing I don't know about?

Who is an American uniparty?

By new Microsoft do you mean how they have changed with regards to Open Source? I mean they actually release open source software now, and don't fight as much against Linux and other communities. Presumably because they realised they can't fight Linux. Do you think this is a bad thing? They obviously aren't a benevolent force for good, but I personally prefer the new attitude to the old one at least.

You don't get it. We are saying that the same people who want to close down libraries are also the ones causing more people to become homeless and/or closing down homeless shelters.

No they probably shouldn't be jerking off at a library, but they don't have anywhere else to do it. Maybe if you had been homeless you might understand.

Upon arrival, I opened it up to see if there was space for a rusty disk.

That's not an ASUS specific thing at all. What modern laptops actually have 2.5" drives anymore? Very few actually.

The thing is so flimsy it's scary. I feels like it's made out of a plastic pizza container and aluminum foil.

Yes this is actually more disturbing.

Without hydrogen or battery storage how exactly do you want to store energy?

[-] areyouevenreal@lemm.ee 7 points 7 months ago

Yes I think the better solution is to read your username. It's hard to argue with Linux and BSDs when it comes to servers.

Why is arch a buttplug?

robots require energy

So do humans. It's called food. Braindead criticism honestly.
