And they would be wrong.
You confused cheap with profitable.
Consumers are stupid. They seldom want something new, more often than not they want something familiar with a few slights twists. Movie studio's don't do reboots because they're lazy, they do it because people keep fucking going to see them.
A handful of people online complain every year about how "Sports Game Franchise '23 is just SGF '22 with some new player skins" and yet it still sells like hotcakes. If your goal is to make money, why wouldn't you do that, there's no financial incentive to spend more money on development.
I starting playing MMO's with the Ultima Online beta, and was in a number of other betas over the years. Vanguard, The Chronicles of Spellborn, etc. The number of beta players who kept shouting "it needs race X from WoW" and "why aren't there any druids like in WoW" was deafening. For decades, people talked about the next "WoW killer", which meant "a game close enough to WoW for people to migrate but maybe with slightly better graphics".
NCSoft? Eww. The only good MMO they ever had was Tabula Rasa.
“They say shelters are the number one resource for us to go, have you ever spent time in a shelter? It’s not the best option.”
Uh, how is that not the bigger issue? Why are people fighting to let them stay on the streets and not working to fix the locations they're expected to go?
Or, you know... just factor in how stupid the average overconsumer is.
It's also kind of ridiculous to think that anyone using a consumer grade GPU is a threat. No one doing work with AI is using a 4090, they're using enterprise grade cards with 80GB of vram (H100/A100, even P40's in a pinch). The 4090 is a nice toy for running Stable Diffusion and low grade ~~ERP~~ LLM models and that's about it.
You're missing the point. Someone who does well in school and has a decent job requiring advanced education should not be struggling to make ends meet in a first world country.
The article states in was an online class, and the student had it as his profile picture, so I'm assuming it was clearly visible in whatever teaching app they were using. I don't think that counts as your personal life tbh.
As well, I don’t think there’s any argument that the Hamas attack on Israel could be anything other than a terrorist attack (without attribution) because they targeted civilians with the specific intent to kidnap.
However, since Israel as a nation is condoning the military action I don’t think it could strictly be said it’s terrorism.
And now you've identified why journalists choose not to make that distinction. You are obviously free to make whatever distinction you want.
Personally I feel the situation over the past 100+ years in Palestine has been so fucked up, there's no simple black and white "good buy retaliating" and "bad guy doing the terrorism".
Honestly if this is what constitutes an international scandal for Canada, as horrible as it appears, I'll take it.
I know we talk about the lack of mental health care being a huge factor in things like this, gun violence, etc, but what does that even look like? Are these people actively trying to find help and there's a lack of resources?
If we had more resources, do you think people like this would even try to use them?
Honestly it just seems like a bunch of gullible people easily manipulated by what they read online, and I don't know if medical health services will help them one bit. The other thing that get's tossed around is lack of education, but as someone who technically didn't finish high school and only spent a year in college, I feel like I have a much firmer grasp on reality than these clowns that make the news time and time again.
Digital cameras need this kind of speed to dump larger and larger RAW images, especially with things like burst mode. No one cares about your Steam Deck lol.
