But by that time most of your Sunday is gone, wouldn't it be better going into the day that you still have two full days off?

Yeah this doesn't feel like a street race in any way. It's such a great circuit and the weather really helped too!

I don't even "hear" lyrics in songs! Is it typical for albums to have songs that tell an overall story?

Brilliant result for Lando, I did not expect a result anywhere near this good coming up to this weekend! This was supposed to be a weak track for McLaren.

The human does it out of self preservation, but the car doesn't need to feel too preserve itself.

By getting the in the car, the passengers should be aware of the risks and that if there is an accident, the car will protect pedestrians over the occupants. The pedestrians had no choice but the passengers have a choice of not getting in the vehicle.

I feel like car manufacturers are going to favour protecting the passengers as a safety feature, and then governments will eventually legislate it to go the other way after a series of high profile deaths of child pedestrians.

That’s the current UK policy, which of course condemns discussion on the massacres of babies

Does it condemn discussion of Hamas or does it condemn glorification of Hamas? There's definitely a difference. I would find it hard to believe there's an explicit law that prevents people discussing the massacres of babies.

From the article:

At a pro-Palestinian rally in Manchester on 8 October, a day after Hamas attacked Israel killing hundreds of civilians, a man wearing a red football shirt with "Palestine" written on the back told the crowd: "We have all seen the scenes and it is the most inspiring act of resistance."

Emphasis mine. He's not in trouble for discussing Hamas, he's in trouble for glorifying the massacre. Not really the same thing as visiting a website.

But anyway, this is a bit of a distraction as we're talking about Israeli policy, not the UK's. I was just clarifying that the parent user made a statement as if it were a law, but it's not, and the link to the article doesn't mention anything about it being a crime to visit a Hamas website. From what I understand from the article the planning is about fining media outlets that I assume won't toe the party line, not individual people for visiting websites. Yes, I agree, it's not a stretch to assume this could be a thing in the future, but based on the linked article it doesn't seem to be the case right now.

PLACES WERE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE DRIVEN TO

Says who? Is there some natural law when the universe was created that said mankind are not allowed to drive?

YEARS OF BUILDING CAR INFRASTRUCTURE yet NO DECREASE IN OVERALL TRAVEL TIME

Ok you go and set off on foot on a 200km journey, and a car sets off at the same time to get to the same place, who will get there first?

Want to go somewhere fast? We have a vehicle for that; It's called a "TRAIN"

Trains are great at moving people / goods between urban areas, but are awful (obviously) for point-to-point journeys. Want to the doctors fast? Can't exactly get on the the train directly outside your house to the front door of the doctors. I like trains, I use them where I can and always use them whenever I go into the office, but you cannot seriously suggest using trains to totally replace cars, it's so ridiculous that I'd swear you've never even seen one.

"i am DRIVING my...."

Not sure what's deranged about it? In fact that case is very valid as you're likely to have a lot of shopping (two weeks worth) that you'd really struggle to carry on public transport. It might have a bit more authenticity if you said it was just to get some bread and milk.

I get the sentiment, we should totally be trying to reduce our car usage and planning our urban environments to favour walking, cycling and public transport, but the fuckcars community on here are totally deranged. Your arguments look ridiculous and aren't going to convince anyone.
