Theyre trying to do do an Amerikkka.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Z_(military_symbol)

Opponents of the war have pejoratively called the Z symbol a zwastika.

The 2022 Moscow rally [...] was officially called in Russia "For a world without Nazism" (Russian: «Zа мир без нацизма»), with Latin Z replacing Russian З.

In Moldova, unknown vandals painted the symbols "Z" and "V" over crosses at the World War II Heroes' Cemetery of Chișinău, on graves of soldiers of the Axis-aligned Romania

Forget all the Ukrainian nazi iconography, the Ruzzians are the real Nazis!

It's very obviously a pun. The only question is if it was intentional.

You can't use one atrocity to justify another, otherwise you're justifying them all. That would be atrocious.

smh making puns at a time like this...

This will never stop being funny.

Okay, what is this country that wouldn't imprison Julian Assange? I don't think it exists. I think you live in a country that would have imprisoned Assange and Edward Snowden.

Which would make you a hypocrite.

people who are basically “racially trans,” meaning they change from one race/ethnicity to another

Yeah, the antisemitic comparisons I've seen have typically been in the "vermin" category. Implying that Jews need to exterminated. I guess dogs wouldn't fit the rhetoric well because people are generally sympathetic to dogs...

I know the dog comparison is used pejoratively in a couple of other languages, but the connection there seems to be to dogs barking - basically calling someone a nuisance.

I haven't read it, and this probably isn't what CriticalOtaku meant but someone elsewhere in the thread said Scott is supposedly the top fighter in Toronto. I take it Scott is confident, maybe even arrogant, based on the comments here.

I'm now imagining Michael Cera playing a douchey UFC champion bideo bamer.

Did you read the article?

Curtailing aid to Ukraine will only prolong the war, Mr Zelensky argues. And it would create risks for the West in its own backyard. There is no way of predicting how the millions of Ukrainian refugees in European countries would react to their country being abandoned. Ukrainians have generally “behaved well” and are “very grateful” to those who sheltered them. They will not forget that generosity. But it would not be a “good story” for Europe if it were to “drive these people into a corner”.

He's not saying "if we lose the war, there will be a refugee crisis". He's not talking about hypothetical future refugees.

He's saying that if the west stops supplying Ukraine, the millions of Ukrainians already in western countries will react badly.

And from there, it's not a leap to call it a threat.

Educate yourself or shut the fuck up. Otherwise, don't act surprised when you're ridiculed for constantly voicing worthless thoughts.

[-] boboblaw@hexbear.net 9 points 2 years ago

Lol there's way more of us than there are of you anti-reading shitheads. And of course when I see such aggressive anti-intellectual bullshit, I feel compelled to mock the moron who's lauding the virtues of being moronic.

No you come to social media to jump into threads about complex topics like history, philosophy, and politics...and then engage only thru simple thought-terminating cliches.

When someone quotes a relevant passage from a history book, you arrogantly dismiss it for being completely inappropriate for a "social media" site. What is appropriate here, of course, is you weighing in on these complex topics with the correct form of communication -- an incoherent series of monosyllabic words strung together.

Now that is productive communication.

I wish you luck on your continuing mission to convince yourself that you're the articulate master of communication here, actually.
