IT systems need a way to pre-enter an account deactivation, and when HR sends a text to the system it makes it live, or something. I've been the IT guy who was told to disable an account, and the user found out before the news was broken so they asked me what was going on. No bueno.

There are probably better returns on making games for the existing markets, vs gambling money making games hoping to grow a new market. If VR ever truly takes off, they can always jump in later. (Which is a shame because I would love it if there were a ton of great VR games)

I mean, what you personally call it isn't really going to make any difference, so if we're trying to optimize your mental health, just reframe the naritive in your head. You're still calling it Twitter to honor what it used to be, back when you respected it. You are refusing to acknowledge the nazi dumpster fire it has become, even if you still need to talk about it.

I personally basically never have a reason to mention the site when taking to another person, but if/when I do, I'll call it Twitter just because I think it would annoy Elon, if he somehow knew.

EDIT: I suppose some of the comments could be characterized as "east bad, west bad, china bad but better at it than everyone else". Which COULD be taken as an insult or a compliment (or both) to China.

Maybe for you, but there are use cases where traffic data isn't vital, like driving in small or medium sized towns where traffic doesn't ever get too bad. Or road trips where there is only one feasible route, and any other way would take hours longer.

But yeah, traffic data IS awesome, I'm not arguing with that 😄

My early-20's cousin-in-law the other day said something like "I don't want to vote for Biden or Trump, they're both the same". He's getting locked up for killing me, because I died when I heard him say that. (I went on to explain to him that they are NOT the same.)

I dunno, they amended to allow ex-prisoners to regain the right to vote after they finish their prison sentences, and the asshats managed to cock that all up. They might be able to do the same here, somehow.
