“It would be a good value if the value was good, but it isn’t.”

The logo in OPs image is definitely the best IMO. There’s an option in the iOS app to use this icon if you wish. Not sure if it’s an option in the web app.

The point you’re making is valid, but it is also worthwhile to consider that more than 85% of humanity lives in the Northern hemisphere. It’s probably not malice or idiocy that causes media to focus on the northern hemisphere.

I went through a brief phase with serrated blades. I quickly found that a sharp “normal” blade was just as effective for 98% of my needs, and was much easier to maintain.

Rage Against the Machine and Public Enemy come immediately to mind.

Edit: I guess those would fall into, what you call, “angry genres”. Not sure if that matters when it comes to spreading information. Popular is popular regardless of tone, and what is popular changes pretty regularly.

When I purchased my first woodworking equipment, I was thinking much more like an engineer than a craftsman. I pretty quickly found that wood is a fairly forgiving material, and being off by a few thousandths on a table saw isn’t usually a big deal. But, it depends on what you’re building and what other tools you have.

Guys… you’re all breaking the first two rules of Usenet…

The first “season” of the podcast Slow Burn is about this. It’s excellent. I’ve listened to it twice.

You’ll sometimes hear IT people use “Layer 8 problem” which is a reference to the OSI networking model. The model has 7 layers. It starts at layer-1, the physical layer (the literal wires that the signals flow through), and ends with layer-7, the application later (things like http, ftp, etc.).

“Layer-8” isn’t technically part of the OSI model, but unofficially it refers to the human layer, or the user. When IT people are troubleshooting an issue, trying to identify where in the model the issue is happening, “layer-8” is a tongue-in-cheek way of saying “there isn’t an actual problem… the person is the problem”.

Another good one is the “ID10T” error (read as “I-D-ten-T”), which looks a lot like “IDIOT” when written down. It means the same thing.

Exactly. Layer 8 problem.

I’ve been using the beta version for a couple of weeks and it’s pretty solid. There are some features I miss from Apollo when I was on Reddit, but I’m hopeful they are coming.
