One of the maintenance shop supervisors abruptly went on administrative leave. I was chatting with him one day, and the next, his boss was emailing all the other directors and people who work with him that he was on leave effective immediately. No clue why, but I’m super curious, because it can’t have been good. It sounds like we have similar long term plans! For what it’s worth, I’ve heard that homesteading can be great for folks with ADHD, since there are such a wide variety of ways to approach it and tasks that need doing, that it sates our need for novelty to stay engaged with things.
Oh, sure! The other comments did a pretty good job of explaining things. In my case, I struggled a lot with procrastination and getting sidetracked easily, which led to the lazy descriptor. And as for the sensitive, I tend to feel my emotions strongly and quickly, and I also have rejection sensitive dysphoria (RSD), so I tend to easily assume I’m being socially rejected
I would say so, yes. If solarpunk is the aesthetic vision of the future we hope for, social ecology provides a political critique and path towards achieving that vision.

I’ve recently been fascinated by lichen. I never knew they are a symbiosis of fungi and algae!
I mean, I suppose so. I can imagine a theoretical AI that isn’t trained on stolen work, isn’t insanely energy intensive, isn’t controlled by the ownership class, and doesn’t hallucinate wildly. But that’s so far away from what AI is in our current context, drawing that distinction feels like losing the forest for the trees, at this point in time.
