Straight up jorkin' it.
mmm mix drinks
What drinks do you mix?
cheap vodka and cheap juice
Sitting down in the shower and enjoying the hot water for too long...
Way way too much mountain dew. During really really bad depressive times it's been the only thing I ate for a day or two.
Video games too. To be honest, my entire life is hollow guilty pleasures trying to deal with crushing amounts of existence.
I think this is a common theme.
phone in bed
hhhhggggggggggggggg
Diet coke and potato chips (crisps) are my junk foods, I eat mostly healthy and mostly food made from food but those crispy crisps and fizzy soda, so delicious and zero nutrition.
A drink a few days a week but not every day. Sex every day. Sleeping until I wake up naturally.
So I guess I hit on gluttony (sort of), sloth, and lust.
Sending all my friends weird memes/videos with zero context late at night. It's one of my favourite hobbies.
Some examples.
Drinking too much soda during the day and reading smutty web serials at night.
Too much caffeine. Northern latitude winter is tough. Coffee helps me through. I managed to avoid the siren song of energy drinks at the store today. Got some sparkling water instead.
I smoke a lot of weed, so I guess that. But I also don’t really believe in feeling guilty for pursuing pleasure - I spent too long doing that as a Catholic, and I have no desire to go back.
As a fellow ex-believer I get this; I suppose I mean "what do you do to help you get through life"...
I've never smoked weed.
Ah, then the answer is definitely smoking weed for me. It’s not for everyone, and I have no judgement for those that don’t partake. But it is really much less harmful than most people are led to believe, and I find that joint of a good strain at the end of a long day is a great way to relax and have a nice chill evening.
Making and consuming my own wine.
Nicotine and some chocolate these days. I always take a cup of coffee and a piece of cocolate every day. It is sacred at this point.
Bourbon. Once I start, there’s nobody around to stop me. I’m a happy drunk though
Bourbon is great. What's your favorite or daily?
I stick with wild turkey 101. There are other probably better ones, but I find it to be delicious especially considering it’s not expensive.
My favorite low end bourbon too! :) my favorite is by them as well Russell’s Single Barrel
If I see any I’ll give it a try. I’d be happy just having 101 via IV drip though
Lol
At least you're happy I suppose!
A drink or two as a play on the computer. A coffee or two as I take care of my child in the morning. Watching jellyfin before bed.
Wholesome - I like it! I used to enjoy having a long slow drink while I played Stellaris...
What was your drink of choice?
That’s that insane game where you can fight the whole galaxy and choose one individual ship too right? I’ve been wanting that
4X strategy game - you control an insterstellar galaxy and make it what you want! Nothing like taking a colony of mushroom men to the stars over a long weekend!
I mostly drank spiced rum or a nice glass or two of resld wine - if I had a proper desktop setup again it'd be a nice peaty Islay or something now I've developed a taste for that!
I missed the winter discount sadly. It looks very fun!
What’s your fav Islay now?
Weed
Beer and snus
Love me some snus.
Edibles, video games, and luxury watches. My wife has threatened to remove limbs if I bring anymore watches home.
What's your favourite watch?
Easy! I'd have to say the Tudor Black Bay Heritage. It was my first Swiss watch, and I loved it ever since it came out in 2012. Long before I could afford one. I cut an ad out of a jewelry store catalog and hung it in my cube as a "someday" kind of inspiration, and couldn't afford one until 2020. I picked it up March 5, pretty much right before that whole year went to crap.
It's also the watch I wore when my daughter was born, so there's a lot of memories associated with it.
It's not super expensive, as far as luxury watches go. And there are a lot of things about it that other watch collectors don't like. Oh, there's no crown guards. Oh, you can't have Snowflake hands with round indices. Oh, it's too thick. Oh, the riveted bracelet looks bulky. But I love all those things, and it was the inspiration of more than one Invicta mod of mine until I could get it.
Casual Conversation
Share a story, ask a question, or start a conversation about (almost) anything you desire. Maybe you'll make some friends in the process.
RULES (updated 01/22/25)
- Be respectful: no harassment, hate speech, bigotry, and/or trolling. To be concise, disrespect is defined by escalation.
- Encourage conversation in your OP. This means including heavily implicative subject matter when you can and also engaging in your thread when possible. You won't be punished for trying.
- Avoid controversial topics (politics or societal debates come to mind, though we are not saying not to talk about anything that resembles these). There's a guide in the protocol book offered as a mod model that can be used for that; it's vague until you realize it was made for things like the rule in question. At least four purple answers must apply to a "controversial" message for it to be allowed.
- Keep it clean and SFW: No illegal content or anything gross and inappropriate. A rule of thumb is if a recording of a conversation put on another platform would get someone a COPPA violation response, that exact exchange should be avoided when possible.
- No solicitation such as ads, promotional content, spam, surveys etc. The chart redirected to above applies to spam material as well, which is one of the reasons its wording is vague, as it applies to a few things. Again, a "spammy" message must be applicable to four purple answers before it's allowed.
- Respect privacy as well as truth: Don’t ask for or share any personal information or slander anyone. A rule of thumb is if something is enough info to go by that it "would be a copyright violation if the info was art" as another group put it, or that it alone can be used to narrow someone down to 150 physical humans (Dunbar's Number) or less, it's considered an excess breach of privacy. Slander is defined by intentional utilitarian misguidance at the expense (positive or negative) of a sentient entity. This often links back to or mixes with rule one, which implies, for example, that even something that is true can still amount to what slander is trying to achieve, and that will be looked down upon.
