The title is based on the wording of the executive order that Trump signed. The title says "Trump signed executive order to cut funding from NPR and PBS". The executive order says "I therefore instruct the CPB Board of Directors (CPB Board) and all executive departments and agencies (agencies) to cease Federal funding for NPR and PBS."

Whether the executive order is legally valid does not change what the executive order says. Many of the other executive orders that Trump have signed are also not legally valid. The title accurately reflects what Trump signed.

Also we don't know what happens next or whether PBS and NPR will have their funding cut. The administration which has deported legal US residents without due process isn't operating within what is legal.

I think Yugopnik is saying that he is secretly or not secretly a long time leftypol user.

Leftypol began as a board on 8chan in 2014. The Leftypol board was created by 4chan users who began to take interests in reading Marxist and Anarchist literature. 8chan grew in popularity in 2014, when moot (admin of 4chan) banned all discussion of gamergate. 8chan, similar to reddit, allowed users to create their own boards. In 2016, the creator of 8chan Frederich Brennan sold the website to Jim Watkins, who is a leader of the Qanon movement. In 2019, 8chan was shut down for extended periods of time because 3 different right wing mass shooters posted their manifestos to 8chan. Between 2017-2019, many of the Leftypol users migrated to a website called bunkerchan. The new Leftypol website was formed between 2019-2020. The bunkerchan url now redirects to the Leftypol url.

I browsed leftypol a few times in the 2014-2016 time period. This was before the chapo podcast existed. I would consider leftypol's beliefs to have class reductionist tendencies. They may have matured in the past 10 years. I don't really know much about the new leftypol site.

The story is not about 1 submarine, it's about an escalation in 50 years of provocative military drills, such as Ulchi Freedom Guardian. KCNA posted another similar article 2 days ago, where they talk about Japan/US/ROK having done war games in the vicinity of DPRK, in January of this year.

The reason that I posted this particular article today is that it is interesting for 2 reasons. Around 4 days ago, Trump promised that he would begin peaceful relations with DPRK. This announcement from DPRK Ministry of Defense contradicts what Trump had promised. The second interesting thing about the press statement is that it is ominous. "We will make clearer our choice of action". I'm thinking that we'll see another DPRK missile test soon.

Press Statement by Spokesperson for Disarmament and Peace Institute of DPRK Foreign Ministry

Pyongyang, September 13 (KCNA) -- A spokesperson for the Disarmament and Peace Institute of the Foreign Ministry of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on Friday released the following press statement "The collective confrontational cooperation against the DPRK will be accompanied by the strengthened formation of strategic axis for improving the security environment of the region":

The U.S. and its vassal forces held the second defense authority meeting between the ROK and member nations of the "UN Command" on September 10.

Their moves to revitalize a tool for war and confrontation, which usurped the signboard of the UN, on the Korean peninsula are arousing a serious concern of the international community.

Another anti-DPRK confrontation confab was held in the name of the "UN Command" whose dismantlement was declared by the international community decades ago. This is an insult to the inviolable UN and the UN Charter and one more important occasion judging who is the illegal force inciting military conflict in the Korean peninsula.

A "joint statement" adopted after the meeting shows that the U.S. is buckling down to drawing member states of the "UN Command" into different joint military drills of aggressive nature to make them proficient in its-led war scenario and substantially enhance their capabilities to fight a war.

Terming the U.S. and its vassal forces' confrontational movement an extremely dangerous political and military provocation that causes security imbalance and escalates the danger of war in the Korean peninsula and the region, we resolutely denounce and reject it.

The expansion of the "UN Command" is a prelude to the establishment of "NATO of Asian version" which will result in pushing the Asia-Pacific region deeper into the structure of new cold war, not easing the military tensions in the Korean peninsula and the region.

When taking into consideration the fact that the revival of the "UN Command" is further increasing the possibility of military conflict in the Korean peninsula by stirring up the war hysteria of the ROK military gangsters running amuck in the military confrontation with the DPRK, the danger of such moves can never be overlooked.

Moreover, if countries in different regions take part in the moves to revive the "UN Command", blindly following the U.S. hostile policy toward the DPRK, military conflict in the Korean peninsula will not be confined to the one between the DPRK and the U.S. but will inevitably lead to the start of a new world war.

It is an essential requirement for the national security and the region's peaceful development to steadily improve the strategic force capable of deterring and weakening the hostile countries' will for war provocation.

The U.S. and its vassal countries' collective military confrontation against the DPRK will serve as a motive and catalyst for accelerating the formation and development of a just strategic axis that thoroughly disallows the imbalance of power in the Korean peninsula and the region.

The DPRK will steadily take a new strategic counteraction to contain and frustrate the reckless confrontation moves of the hostile forces to disturb peace and stability in the Korean peninsula by mobilizing the illegal war organization. -0-

I would not be surprised if Sean O'brien endorses Trump. Trump has been saying for weeks now at his rallies that the Teamsters are going to endorse him. They've had meetings together multiple times.

When I search what you wrote, it says that even though CEF gave money to JSO in the past, Trevor Neilson left CEF in 2021 and condemned JSO as only disruptive in June 2023.

What you wrote doesn't seem up to date. It would seem that JSO went in a different direction.

Also this article from from November 2023 says that JSO only received 2% of it's funding from CEF. That doesn't seem as significant as your post claims.

A government ID is a proprietary information of each state. If someone showed you an ID from Montana would you know what each number and feature on the ID meant? No, you wouldn't because IDs are a way for the government to ID a citizen and not everything known about an ID is available to the public. In order for a website to be able to scan an ID, the state needs to provide the website with the appropriate software. If you buy alcohol at the grocery store, the grocery store uses state-issued software to scan the ID.

Texas as example passed a law which said that people are now allowed to sue pornhub for not scanning IDs and yet Texas did not give pornhub the necessary software to scan IDs. The intention was purely to manufacture a scenario for people of Texas to sue pornhub.

In the instance of facebook, I'm not sure that facebook actually scans the id, they just store a picture of it. Do you want every porn site to store photos of every ID of every visitor. What if the website gets hacked?

From what I remember, the ecofash are the villains. The villians has some ecofascist beliefs and are motivated by those beliefs, but I don't think that the show itself accepts ecofascism. To me it was pretty clear that the show was saying ecofascism is bad.
