Because all his earlier life was spent paying pretty women (and girls) to hang around pretending to be attracted to him (when it was actually money, food, and/ot entertainment).

That probably describes a good chunk of Trump supporters. They are very enamored by the idea of strength and the terms they use reflect that influence it has on their world. The idea that America is presently diminished and will become great = a strong and respected nation leading other nations. The desire for hypermasculine men and submissive women. If their leader looks weak, they're sensitive to that. They'll deny it as long as they can, of course. But there could very well be a point where the collective feeling turns away from Trump.

This stephanotis was given to my parents for their wedding in 1961. It bloomed every year for my mom. After she passed in 2019 I took it home and did my best with it. But apparently these plants are notorious for being a bit fussy and resisted all my efforts to get it to flower. Two years ago I read something about how they don't like being rotated, so I stopped doing that and bought a grow light to keep the non-sun side from going bald. That seems to have done the trick. There are about 5 or 6 clusters and this is the first to open up. And yes they smell fantastic!

He comes from the era when politicians were civil to each other even if they vehemently disagreed. Well before Newt Gingrich started characterizing Democrats as evil.

I'm pretty sure it was Melania who noped him out of that. It wouldn't surprise me if Trump didn't bother actually asking the kid if he wanted to do it before trying to shove him up on stage.

I want to see a photo of Letitia James standing in the doorway of Trump Tower spinning the keys around her finger. And smiling that Cheshire cat smile.

Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (I-Ariz.) announced she will not seek reelection this year, avoiding an unpredictable three-way race in the swing state that had many national Democrats worried about holding onto the seat.

If a 1 year old got pregnant, I think you should be more concerned about arresting whoever TF impregnated a 1 year old, rather than whether it's a crime for the 1 year old to have an abortion.

Do these people even remotely understand that the younger a pregnant person is, actually makes an abortion more necessary? Beyond the health demands of pregnancy and childbirth on a young person, do they really want 10 and 12 year olds, or even younger, being mothers? (Don't bother answering; I can guess.)

They have to blur the faces to keep the public from helping identify them and thus help the DoJ.

It's notable that the Republicans have not attempted to court the pro Palestinian voters in reaction to the anger at Biden. Because they are if anything more pro Israel / anti Palestine than the Democrats.

I agree that the Dems are the "only slightly better" party in a few aspects, and they need to do better. But slightly better is still better than the alternative and we need to vote like it.

Mike Johnson said "I personally have real reservations about doing this [expulsion], I’m concerned about a precedent that may be set for that." Yes, let's NOT set a precedent of holding politicians accountable for lies, fraud, and theft!

It should be pretty easy to find the list of everyone else who voted not to expel, so we know who is pro-corruption.

That scumbag will say anything to get attention. The filthier the better, and it seems filth is all he's got left.

Unoriginal copycatting. This is only because she said MAGAs would need deprogramming. Accusation = confession as usual

I know it's silly but I really like that frog.

This morning he got replaced by a screen that you don't have to swipe up to view, and includes both hourly and 10 day forecasts.

I followed some instructions I found elsewhere to clear google search data (settings: apps: google app: storage & cache: Manage space) and that brought the frog back for about 10 minutes. Then the weather line disappeared entirely from At A Glance. I rebooted the phone and got the weather back in the widget, but the frog was gone again.

Would really like him back... is there something else I can try.

ETA 5 days later my froggy friend is back... I hadn't tried changing anything else, it seems just random

I think Prime is up to $140 a year now. They used to promise 2 day delivery, but that is now 2 day shipping, and delays prior to shipment aren't counted. We are not renewing when it comes up later this month. It's no longer worth it.

I'm a Google Fi customer and have location turned on, so Maps asks me to review places I've been. Yesterday I was asked to review a hair salon in a city about 35 miles away, Maps claiming I had called it 2 weeks ago. But I haven't called it -- the number isn't in my call history so even if I managed to randomly butt dial, that hasn't happened. What gives? Is it possible my number was spoofed and somehow Fi thinks the call was made by me?
