(para)quoting History of the world part 1: ...f@ck samsung?
But seriously? Working people into their graves? For what? For "MORE" that nobody needs or wants, just to fill landfills with more yesteryear devices? Ugh. Capitalism was fun for a while but now it really became very self-centered : profit for the sake of profit whereas we need to move humanity forward, end poverty ( because technically we can ) and start looking at each other with respect and be able to live our lives with dignity.
couple of details though: Canada right wing is a long ways away from US for the most part. Also AB almost got NDP elected last election which is, after 40yrs of unbreakable concervative hold on province is telling. So yeah right wing is correct but you've got to pay attention to nuances. Calgary and South of Calgary are good places to live with decent infrastructure. You go most places BC you'll be surrounded by a lot of conservative minded folk. In both provinces I've been surrounded by conservative minded folk which were persistently calling POTUS45/47 a nutcase. So... don't get too hung up on labels.
gotta love conservative-minded crowd: they are all about "privacy", personal freedoms etc. but at the same time can't keep their hands out of others' pants (proverbially and literally) and are nosy about everything. Isn't voting a personal choice? If my spouse doesn't tell me who they vote for I'll just say it's their right and move on with my life... but not cons... noooooo. Gotta stick their noses everywhere
time to make it stick. from now on I shall reference Musk as Dipsh*** Musk.
putin said same thing about tanks, long range rockets and planes... Ukraine got all of the above and nothing followed. Those are hollow threats of a desperate maniac who's cornered himself
understated detail: NDP snuck up on Libs? that's a pleasant surprise. Maybe people did notice that all of recent progressive changes were forced by NDP onto Libs... interesting
left wing is so busy ripping itself apart while right has fully consolidated, good luck winning elections. This is practically handing POTUS45 his POTUS47 title. US left wing always picks wrong timing to settle internal scores which is why it's always flatfooted and toothless.
There is no good strategy or good outcome with Huawei. CCP virtually controls any Chinese economic entity and has appetite for "secrets" of the West. Embracing Huawei would've been as bad as outcasting it. We're at the point where I hesitate to buy most things that originated in China.
doom-and-gloom from a website centered on real estate (investment) and as Canada closes loopholes on foreign investment in real estate... timing is suspicious. Lack of similar coverage elsewhere doubly so.
manufacturer may very well integrate add and update endpoints so that it's rather hard to distinguish. For example, say Samsung decides to serve adds and updates. Doing so through https://serives.samsung.com/{ads,updares} they leave you with 0 handle on what's going on, since the only thing your routers and proxies can see is "samsung.com" and differentiator is "hidden" after that. So TLDR; is: you either allow internet access or you do not, there's no "a little bit"
Based on experience south of border or in AB - all the dissent goes out the window and everybody falls in line come election time. I'd like to believe that any of the major Canadian parties has members genuinely caring for their constituencies but given our electoral system and governing system that is out the window as hyper-partisanship is a natural step in current system's evolution. Parties prevent democracy by forcing their members to follow party line and not their electorate needs.
