South Koreans generally don’t have an issue with their northern siblings, but they hate China, Japan, and to a lesser extent, the USA.

Economic growth is when the price of capital is artificially inflated by raising interest rates using a currency backed by imperialism very-intelligent

For about a year before the 2020 primary ended, I was an ML who wanted to believe that there was still a possibility for peaceful reform in the USA. So, basically a demsoc in practice. Seeing Democrats steal Bernie’s delegates right in front of my own eyes changed my mind on that matter quickly and permanently.

“Capitalism is when communism.” Gorbachev was the USSR’s youngest premier.

Not to worry. Income inequality in the USA is at similar levels to France in the pre-revolutionary era. These two times and places are vastly different, of course, but if you were a member of the bourgeoisie, would you feel secure? I’ve been feeling lately that the relentless sinophobia in the corporate press is a kind of proof that the monster is indeed afraid. If they were unafraid, they would have no problem with occasionally allowing communists to speak in public. But even on the internet, outside of a few niches like hexbear, this is strictly forbidden. Even the American masses are not actually that stupid and are perhaps not even so evil. Given the right circumstances and education and leadership, they could become just as radicalized as people in China during the revolution.

The fascists running the war in Ukraine are very different than the dumb kids recruited to pound out land mines with their feet. They'll keep suckering in new cadres of young people with promises of God, Glory, and Gold. And Russian mortar fire will continue to turn the rich black-earth fields of Ukraine into a blood soaked hell.

Zelensky sacking all his recruiters across the country suggests to me that they’re having trouble finding people. I can’t remember where I read this, but someone wrote somewhere that a factor in the October Revolution was the way that most of the tsarists in the military had already gotten themselves killed by charging German machine guns basically with their bare hands for years. This left nobody in the army except the liberals and the communists (and the tsarist officers).

Nobody is winning. Nobody benefits.

Contradictions in the global north (especially between the USA and France) are breathing new life into anti-colonial movements in West Africa. There are also intensifying contradictions between virulently Russophobic Eastern European (American puppet) states versus Western European states which just want cheap Russian oil and natural gas to power their economies. As various countries around the world smell blood in the water regarding the USA and NATO, they start reconsidering the seeming invulnerability of the West. By joining organizations like BRICS, the collapse of the dollar and the possibility of the end of the period of European colonization which began in 1492 (or even earlier with the first Portuguese slave raids in North Africa) becomes possible.

Europe was a backward hellhole before the 1500s and wasn’t really “modern” by any standard until the 19th century, which very curiously coincided with the Scramble for Africa. Hmm, interesting.

Edit: so you’re Dutch. Isn’t the Netherlands’s wealth built on slavery? Why didn’t you guys give all that stolen money back?
